besides, a shitty song doesn't have to be just shitty to compete with shakira.

what makes shakira's "....song" so horrific, is that it's supposed to be so intimate and moving, and her voice is so disgusting and offputting, that the overall effect is the complete opposite of what was intended

That's exactly what's wrong with the Aerosmith song - it's a song written in the language of some inexperienced young guy being sung by a guy whose gotten laid with more women than you or I have had hot dinners. that's some groce shit right there

she is a terrible singer, she sounds like she sings with a permanently blocked nose or something.

but it's that, combined with the lyrics...the "My territory" and "good girl" stuff, it just gives me the squicks

same thing with tay tay in that song, talking about a "nice dress" "red lips" "rosy cheeks", I dunno, the way she sings it trying to sound innocent, but then if she really was a good girl, she wouldn't be out there with a "bad boy" wearing bright makeup would she, she'd be at home in her pyjamas reading a book on astrophysics or something

i dunno, it's groce to me somehow. and so fucking pathetic. Like, if you know he isn't really interested in being in a relationship with you, and that's ultimately what you want, why get involved. dumbass alert ding ding ding

Funny you didn't even mention the two things that I really hate about Shakira. 1) she doesn't articulate the words she's singing and she does it in English and in Spanish too. It's fucking frustrating and irritating as it's hard to understand what the hell she's saying. 2) the god damn belly dance that she does over and over and over again in places and situations that are completely out of context.
