i'm on it. i know i literally referred to a recent depressive episode in the above post, but it's actually working out fantastically. i still have breakthrough symptoms (feeling the occasional effects of depression/mania without it getting full blown), but it's done wonders.

i take it along with Wellbutrin. at first it was really weird feeling energetic and motivated without being manic. or responding to bad things with sadness rather than not being able to get out of bed. yeah i do have an occasional episode but it doesn't interrupt my life for a week at a time. i'm doing really well in all my reasonably difficult classes, so i guess that counts for something.

it was the first cocktail they put me on since i was baker acted last year and i consider myself extremely lucky that the first thing they put me on worked exactly as intended. so if this doesn't work, don't be discouraged, there are a lot of options.

The Moon makes a complete circle through the twelve signs every 28.5 days and spends approximately 2.5 days in each sign.

There is a time, however, when this connection is interrupted and we "float" between signs. This is the time we call the void-of-course Moon. It starts after the Moon has made its last major aspect (1) to the Sun or planets and is still within the sign, and the Moon is considered void of course until it enters the next sign.
it was for about 11 hours today (one hour left).

the quote above sounds kind of hokey i guess but its actually a strange phenomenon imo

I was like okay prescribe me those but give me ativan too cause that's what i'm actually gonna take

It's a benzodiazepine like xanax or klonopin only it has a longer half life, lasts 8-12 hours and for some reason works better for me than those others. It's to relieve anxiety, when I take one it makes me feel calm and positive and able to appreciate life.

If one medicine worked for everyone we'd only have one medicine. Klonopin worked best for me, but I am def better off without benzos. They never helped me except to sleep, and in retrospect they slowed me down. However, not some people can't function without them or need a small stash "just in case", like if they have a panic attack. If I could keep a few without eating them I would keep maybe 5 around for emergencies.

absolutely, beta blockers like propranolol are used for anxiety.

Has anyone here ever tried 5-HTP? I've read that it works for anxiety, but I have yet to try it.

anecdotally, i've known a friend who takes it and says it did nothing. my psychiatrist seems to take it - i've seen a bottle out in his office before.

Compared to when I was 16-22 I'm doing so much better. I'm sure some of you remember the things I'd post and all those chat rooms. Haven't been on meds since I was probably 21. Maybe there's nothing wrong with me.
