oh, i see, so youre in favour of the terrorists, then? if osama bin laden is calling you, the government wants to know why. or do you want to cave in to those pansy liberals out there that would rather respect the privacy of bin laden than protect america against its total, utter, and final destruction by terrorists? so youre in favour of americas destruction, then. were at WAR, nimrod, get it through youre head. even talking about this is helping the enemy destroy us all forever and ever
but, hey, i have nothing to hide, im not a terrorist, so what do i care? |

I'm actually surprised that the people who complained about how they want the government to get out of their business are now the ones applauding the president for encroaching upon their privacy. Funny how these things change. I'm rather annoyed about the money that could be used better, but it's not the dumbest thing our taxes have gone toward. And by our taxes I mean what little amount I pay, but I speak on behalf of t3h p30pl3z.

I'm talking about an idea I got from sleeper. When saying nothing existed to be hidden it reminded me about how annoyed I am that the people pushing for more "security" in the form of spying on Americans are the ones who should be asking for the opposite. Not to say that sleeper said this, but it just made me think about it, and type it. |

Duo - There is no such thing as "privacy", which I found out when my ex was applying for his present job a couple years ago. All they have to do is type in your ss# into a database and find out whatever they want on you. Every job you have had, where you have lived, bills incurred, phone, cars bought, and purchases made via credit and bank debit cards. Some of the info they returned on him started off with his first job as a kid, throwing news papers for chrissakes.
I'm pissed off that our privacy is being invaded on other levels, but it's not getting worth getting worked up over....when they have been able to always look up information on people whenever they want. The internet only provides easier access for regular civilians or those working govt jobs - |

That really is awful that all this information is at hand... And the counter-argument is that it's "keeping us safe," as Americans. *sigh* I guess there's no going back, now, to a system where such information didn't have such easy access, is there? Now that these systems are in place, there is no way to reverse them, or can anything be done? |

Uh, I'm of the school of thought that they *should* be able to get that kind of info for a security clearance.
