All the Dems have now as a political strategy is this moribund Russian meddling narrative on an investigation that involves counter-intelligence, not criminal activity on the part of the Trump campaign. They needed a S.P. to continue the charade and keep mucking things up.

Sheriff David Clarke would be a good choice for FBI chief but if it's Giuliani I'll be the first one to say whatever amount the swamp got drained by axing Comey, it would get filled back up with Rudy.

From a crooked top cop who called a dubious investigation to make it harder for the President to fire him, absolutely.

That's why it got personal, especially when Comey just last week basically lied about the Hillary/Huma/Carlos Danger emails.

Trump threw down hard, he timed it so Comey was in front a bunch of agents in L.A. while the news of his firing flashed on the big screens behind him. I'm sure there were a bunch of smiles from the rank and file, now happy they can do their jobs again without interference from Comey and his corruption.

Giuliani said he didn't want it, but yea it would've basically been like appointing Rick Perry to the EPA or Betsy Devos to Sec Education. But while Trump might think the EPA and federal oversight of education are worthy of appointing people who are for small government, he can't exactly do that with the next FBI appointee.
