Default if you have yet to listen while high on medical grade Cannabis, you do not know...

what you're talking about. OCEANIA is the debut album from this Smashing Pumpkins (SP3 as many here call them). It is Billy's best songwriting, cohesively or album-wise, since Adore, although stronger tracks from Machina 1 all the way up through Zeitgeist (Jimmy's performance on United States alone...) stand up or exceed in quality.

Think of this album as a debut and imagine what this band can evolve into. I know the majority of fans are questioning Mike Byrne's drum sound and skill, but on more listens you'll see that he does not make the music bad, simply not true. He finds some nice grooves and face it, he's young and he'll get better. End of story there.

Overall relative to the SP catalog, I rate this as 7.6 with room to grow on me to a maximum of 8, but that's pushing it a bit. Still, for the DEBUT album of this incarnation of band calling themselves Smashing Pumpkins, i couldnt be happier (okay, a smidge, but really... its great).

piece, luwv, and fibonacci pumpkins.

They can't evolve into anything. Billy's bag of tricks has been plundered, as can be seen. This is as good as it will be for post 40 Billy.

He made TheFutureEmbrace with a full band and whatever he'd learned from Zeitgeist. Everything from here on out will be touching on some aspect of 2003 onwards.

I listened to the SP 2.0 on bath salts once, and it convinced me building Billy Corgan a custom fuzz pedal was a good idea.

THIS new band Smashing Pumpkins better watch out for a lawsuit. There was a much more interesting band called Smashing Pumpkins from the 90s, who had a very similar vocalist, but a better drummer and better songwriter. That original Smashing Pumpkins has a good case of slander, I think, for releasing sub-par music under their moniker.

I hope someone tells the singer from this new band Smashing Pumpkins (is his name William?) that Billy Corgan, formerly of Smashing Pumpkins, has some great lawyers, and since it's so early in their career (this being their DEBUT album) they still have time to change their name.
