The Black Kids EP. I don't know if it came out in 2007 or 2008, though.

yea, like wolfmother.

guess its a good year for zep to come back afterall (though most ppl would consider them 70's). but that works for them too, since a lot of so-called indie rock is heading towards a pseudo 70's direction.

I read that mazzy star comparison in some article, I don't remember what it was in. Maybe the paper or something. Or it could have been Rolling Stone. PLAGIARIST.

the 10 tracks of crap before the 3 actual songs on the silver mt zion...that's the kind of stuff that is annoying.

like...why do that?

do they seriously sound like Mazzy Star? They played a free show here a couple of months ago with some other good bands (Grizzly Bear, Melgrove Band, Akron/family) but I never saw them, I read they were good but I just never went.

is this bitch still seeded anywhere? ysi?

What does everyone think of new Stephen Malkmus? I find all his solo albums have to be listened to and incubated for a couple of months before I truly love them. I think I kind of liked the wackiness/looseness of Face the Truth more then these minimal-use-of-effects classic rock guitar jams. I guess Real Emotional Trash is kind of like 'Pig Lib + No More Shoes' on alot of tracks. But alot of it is fun so I'll have to get drunk with it a few more times before I have a final say.

that times new viking album is good but i think present the paisley reich was better

they're still probably my favourite band doing this kind of thing. e.g. royal trux is just annoying.

The Whigs new record is fantastic. Also, The Duke Spirit's new one is worth a listen.

black mountain, delicious, the magnetic fields, xiu xiu, the kills, and hot chip have all had pretty good records so far. a few other albums i havent listened to well enough to judge yet.

the new british sea power has been the most disappointing so far, though after open season i shouldnt have been expecting much.

one should never expect too much from british sea power

the new prurient album is kind of weird but i think i like it even though it sounds like a harsh noise sunno cover album
