Default Are the Datsuns really the best live band in the world right now?

i've read this in a few places - but never believing what I read i wondered if anyone had seen them and could tell whether they're both forking out to go and see at the astoria in december...

I saw them at a bar a month ago for about 15 bucks (bout 5 pounds). Some girl offered me $60 for the ticket as i walked in - should have taken it i'm so broke . I aint necessarilly a big fan like i can't be bothered buying their album but they put on a fuckin good show aye. The place held about 300 people abosolute max which added to the atmosphere. The main reason i went was to see a friend of mine who's band was opening. They were pretty average so i was glad the Datsuns really shook the place up. They're a whole lotta fun and worth seeing - Saying they are the best live band around is a tad eccentric tho. The only gripe i had was when they tried to get everyone on their knees during the quiet part of Freeze Sucker, like they thought they were the absolute shit but you see in New Zealand it's like 'fuck off' - just cos they got big overseas doesn't make them rock'n'roll gods here. Altho i must admit there were a few little slappas around eager to please them.

No they aren't because they suck and are just like every other one of these shitty rock and roll bands. Go see the Icarus Line live to see a band who do it a thousand times better and with a thousand times more conviction.

New Zealand to England I assume. We usually just triple for pounds or doubl for USD. Its not entirely accurate but its relatively close.

Not the best live act of the moment, but they do rock major ass live. I've seen them playing with the Von Bondies, what an awesome show it was.

but just to drop another name: Ikara colt

Wow.

I just heard of a great new band called 'Deep Purple' or something. Anyone ever heard of them?

Incedentally, I was on a flight to Melbourne at the end of June with them, and I was pleased to see that the datsuns travelled in economy class.
