I don't know jack shit about instruments on a technical level though, so it's amusing to see both sides of the argument here. The logical conclusion is that Billy is eccentric, no matter what the question.

goofy indeed. its pretty easy to forget about BC sometimes in terms of his 'skillz'. he's probably the most underrated guitarist of 'our' generation. same way jimmy is an underrated drummer. whether he thinks paint changes sound or note is irrelevant because he could play a cigar box piece of shit thats falling apart and make it sound good. or that piece of twine that you use to tie your christmas tree to your car.

That is not how a guitar string moves, nor is it representative of how it moves, as a guitar string does not produce a pure sine wave. Nor does the guitar string have paint on it, and if the guitar string did have paint on it, the color or the paint would still be irrelevant.
