You do realize that James is only rythym guitar on their first two albums according to Wikipedia. And on everything after that he is lead and rythym guitar. So the Kim Thayil parallels aren’t as much of a stretch.

Yeah absofuckenlutely. I reckon on the whole I prefer Lee's songs to Thurstons songs. Kim is the winner but Lee wrote some really great SY tunes, In The Kingdom #19 and Wish Fulfilment come to mind.

Andy summers of the police comes to mind. He’s the George Harrison of the police. Omega man, behind my camel which won a Grammy I think , someone to talk to. All great contributions from him
