Ehh, the Peel Sessions showed otherwise. The production on those live performances is rather Albini-ish and Siva sounded heavy and raw as fuck and arguably better than the album version. They would've sounded great doing an album like that.

Like I said, Gish era live Pumpkins was great. But SD live didn't beat SD studio.

MCIS live, sure, but MCIS was essentially "live in the studio" for a lot of it (which it suffers from IMO - the vocals on a lot of MCIS sound like scratch / guide vocals - from a production point of view, not the performance, before everyone jumps down my throat).

Live in the studio, save for the gargantuan number of overdubs? Or was it a 100 man rock orchestra playing on Ruby

What i mean to say: no, it was essentially the very opposite of 'live in the studio'

MCIS was "live" in that they recorded the basic tracks as a band and then added to them afterwards.

SD was recorded part by part.

That's what i thought, but if it's just shiny & brite vol 2 it's apparently not enough. What will it be this time? No sun, no time, no talent, no shit

Dude that’s a lotta songs, that’s kinda encouraging, right?

Feel like big willies been getting like 10% of a trickle from the muse and consistently been putting 1 or 2 very nice tracks on last few releases (Archer, friekin Meadow Goats which is an 8/10 sp song, talkin Dorian was excellent)

So if this holds true we may get like 1 or 2 good new bill songs with jimmy drums, this is something that still excites me, despite everything

Question

Sounds like Volume 2 will be three hours instead of just over 30 minutes.

Or there will be Volume 2, 3 and 4 in a row very quick...

I wish he would just pan the whole SOSB concept because the first one was so bad.. i don't think anyone wants to listen to a second volume.

Just start over fresh with a new concept.

thanks!

How many parts has Mike Oldfield much later done of his classic "Tubular Bells"?
How long do we have to wait for Corgan doing the same, feeling desperate to find success again?

A MELON COLLIE, Vol. 2 is in the making, with so much new beautiful songs...!

Normally I would be excited about 16 songs because that would mean 3-4 b-sides but Corgan hasn't really done b-sides in a while, I guess they're all A-sides.

Don't forget to tell your opinion about the best song from Vol. 1 of the still new album:

I'm "marchin on"...
