The only song on the album I could do without is The End is Beautiful. Felt like they were reaching for another 23 with that one and it just missed the mark.

Really love this band though. Zero fucks given and all that.

I love that song. I skip It Matters sometimes.

I also just discovered Futures and despite the bad lyrics I am obsessed with Night Drive

'CAUSE QUITTING ALONE WILL

NEVER

GET YOU DRY

Night Drive is fucking great. Sticks out like a sore thumb on that album but in a good way.

The lyrics never struck me as bad, exactly.

Like, are you just hearing Futures for the first time now?

I'd recommend getting the Stay on My Side Tonight EP to go along with it.

They're coming here next month and I can't find a soul in my vicinity who will go with me. Probably gonna go it alone.

Saw them on the Damage tour and they played for two and a half hours. Just non-stop energy. And they sounded pretty much perfect.

This thread made me think of everclear... they appeared on some late night show that i taped cause pumpkins were on it. It was some 30 minute 1am thing back in 1995 and everclear were the new up coming band they did a short on. I bought the album, loved it, and then spent a lot of time defending them once they got popular.

I always liked the jimmy eat world singles but never dove deeper. Im gonna check it out

i was absolutely in the "just dropping by for The Middle" crowd, but i wasn't making a point of it

Cool! I saw them last week and they were still rock fucking solid. Played perfectly for 25 songs. So much sweat and energy and enthusiasm. It was truly infectious. The best show I've been to in ages.

Yeah I loved it. Crowd was weird? But Jim is a solid fuckin frontman. Nice to see a band give the audience what it wants without displaying obvious contempt

I'm shocked they manage to pour energy into The Middle still, but they do. Really glad I went.

Yeah, I am stunned they can still play some of these songs and not pout or go into autopilot mode like Bill does when he plays songs like BWBW and Today, but I guess that's the difference between career musicians with gratitude for their audience and a complete and utter spoiled, out-of-touch fuckhead baby like Corgan.

The crowd at my show was great. Everyone was oddly polite and respectful yet energetic and knew most of the songs. Someone threw a yellow balloon with a smiley face painted on it into the crowd at the start of A Praise Chorus and people were bouncing it back and fourth through the air for the next 5 songs or so. It was amusing and kind of inspiring to see a crowd indulge in something so silly without one single shithead ruining the vibe by keeping the balloon or popping it on purpose (spoiler alert: it ended up popping on its own in front of some dudebro's face).

Most seemed younger than me which was a little weird. Some girl pretty violently grabbed my ass in order to sneak in front of me and that was very off putting. Dudes behind me before the show were making a bunch of jokes about dick pics and talking about how the new album was too soft and how alkaline trio sucked but blink 182 and AFI were awesome. One of them had a foo fighters shirt on. Blech

Maybe that's just Milwaukee.

Haha, wow. Sounds like you got the Warped Tour rejects crowd. Everyone in my crowd was pretty much in my age-range. Seemed like I was surrounded by fellow "Clarity/Bleed American were my high school soundtrack" peeps.

Also also also new album too soft? Pass The Baby and Get Right are some of their "darkest" and most rocking tracks. Album has peaks and valleys. I love it.

Finally downloaded chase this light. Listened to half of it and really like it.

This is sort of confusing but I'm just gonna roll with it. Sincerity and earnestness are what I require these days I guess.

Cool. It's probably my least favorite album of theirs, but there are some really good songs on there. Gotta Be Somebody's Blues, Let It Happen, Always Be, Firefight...
