I skipped Minneapolis on Sunday for a number of reasons, but listening to the recordings of the whole show, here's some thoughts:

- The band sounds very tight. Possibly the tightest they've been since MCIS.
- It's very surprising how they've attempted to play arrangements closer to the albums, and pretty much succeed. With Jeff + James + Katie, they're actually able to pull it off, while previous versions didn't bother and just presented the "live version" of the album recording, or whatever. And that's fine. But this is kind of impressive.
- Because of the previous two points, the Machina-era songs sound great! I've always maintained the 2000 Tour was horseshit, and the fact that this lineup of the band pulls them off convincingly only proves my point. I always partially blamed the songs themselves, but I guess that era of the band was just not on their game.
- James has gotten better. His vocal on Blew Away was always shaky live, but now it's an improvement.
- the MCIS theme played as the intro was great. One of the only true sparks of the original magic of the band.
- Obviously it's out of context because I'm listening and not seeing, but the bullshit soundclips between songs is very obnoxious. Corgan also did this stupid rant/intro thing as well, that made my stomach turn, knowing his political stance. Sorry, this shit worked when I was 16 and wanted to rebel against my parents; now I just want to hear music, not this dumb shit. Especially in the current political climate. I hate to use the word "cringe", but...
- Bass player guy is fine. Stop complaining.
- Katie Cole bothers me for some reason. Her keys are great, her backing vocals are not only dead on, but really up in the mix. Maybe it bothers me because it's too perfect... or maybe that she's obviously a fill-in D'Arcy? idk.
- Three fucking hours? Jesus Fuck I cannot imagine standing there listening to this shit for that long. McCartney played for two hours and I was like "Is he going to die soon or what?"
- Stairway? really?
