When Billy puts on these costumes, what do you think he thinks he looks like vs. the reality?

Knights Of Malta costume with a Zero... FUNNY

Instead of spending much money for stupid clothings Corgan should have hired better tour musicians.
Like MIKE GARSON.

I love the backup singers on KoM. It makes the song sound like an Afghan Whigs tune.

"Knights Of Malta" sounds a lot better live without the Karaoke background music.

"Solara" is also better now too, rocking right from the beginning.

Was watching silvery with some friends and they started laughing and said that the guy cant hit a note.
And went bashing me cause they know i am a fan.

Had to admit that there isn't a frontman with so much success who sings so badly live.

I felt really ashamed.

I was at the show, got free press tix through KROQ, yet didn't for the Pumpkins show that was also at the Forum in August, lol. VIP club was cool, I probably could have gone up to Billy if I'd hung around for when he was interviewed (the setup for that was in the room, I assume he was interviewed). Pumpkins set definitely didn't have same energy as August, but still a fun enough performance. Knights of Malta was good, I thought the stuff with the backing track vocals was painful, but it sounds cool live with real backing singers and without Billy's woowoowoos. Travels you could tell bored the crowd to tears, it was later in the set and I saw some people leave. They should have played Marchin' On in its place or With Sympathy if they wanted a ballad. Silvery Sometimes sounded good, but it should not have been the last song they played at a KROQ show. They should have flipped it with 1979's place on the set if they couldn't close with Muzzle due to the time constraints.

You had every opportunity to talk with billy and you didn’t?

Probably for the best. He would have ripped you a new asshole.

The new songs are sounding better live except...

Bill needs to go home and rest his voice. It's steadily been going downhill since the beginning of the Shiny tour.

I tried. I was in the club area for an hour and a half before going to see the end of AFI, from then on I wanted to see the show. They had a very small interview stage set up, each time I went over to check if the Pumpkins were being interviewed (you couldn't hear the interviews being played on speakers, they were being recorded), it was bands I'd never heard of. I saw a guy wearing a Jimmy Chamberlin Complex shirt in the club area (tr00 fan alert).

I could really give a shit if Billy dislikes me now, though my intentions myself are not to attack him. This is my job, he doesn't write me a check to pay my bills. I now look at concerts like going to a strip club, as cynical as that sounds. It isn't some emotional hero worship thing anymore. I don't know these people, just entertain me.

on one hand, this is kind of a lame thing to fault a rock band for - on another, it's on billy for trying to be a "professional singer" these days anyways & completely deserving such criticism. if you have a fuckin' retirement age in mind already why not just belt the shit like it's 1999? bald LARD!!!

sounds like a valid criticism. imagine a lead guitarist unable to hit the right note on his guitar.

i mean i don't want the dude to like, destroy himself or whatever but, why not just sing everything like he did on Marchin' On? Or at least shit like Solara. I know this has been said a million times but, well, might as well repeat it 'til the bald lord CONCEDES

part of the problem is that he wants his voice mixed above the instruments and then he doesn't even play guitar, but stumbles around stage doing some winnie the pooh dance which brings your attention constantly back to him not hitting the right notes and doing weird vocal tics ("OOOONIGHT T––OOOOOONIGHT").

He was technically much worse of a live singer in the Siamese era, but now he just has no sense of how to play to his strengths instead of highlighting his weaknesses

i'm not saying it ain't valid but, to go into a rock concert expecting a singer to be pitch-perfect the whole time is pretty lame. it ain't a fuckin' choir recital. Then again, like I said, since Bill himself seems to be focusing much more on style over substance these days, he deserves such remarks, so FUCK 'im!

I’m impressed that he got his guitar playing together pretty well for the most recent tour at least. Remember that Solaraflame person who started the “netphoria you are terrible” thread? I still think that was Billy because he talked specifically about working on his guitar playing for the tour and kind of admitted his voice sucks.

He's a music news publisher who landed an epic scoop. What was he supposed to do, ignore the glaring D'arcy situation in order to appease lord B0lly?

Get a grip.
