For people who showed up at 12:45-1pm, as all the advertisements instructed, you were greeted by an information sheet that basically said “60 early birds were given wristbands, the rest will go on sale at 2pm”. But I can confirm that nothing went on sale at 2 beyond the early birds. I talked to the 62nd person in line, who was turned away. KROQ kept all this going because when you’d attempt to ask them how many more tickets would be available they would say they had no idea. Amoeba had no idea this was happening until this morning when KROQ notified them.

Sounds like a shit show.

To be fair, if they said lineup at 1, I'd definitely have gone a few hours earlier to at least be around and to check shit out.

Wasn't KATIE COLE, a broadway A-level keyboardist, also announced to play on this tour?

Well an incredible amount of people did show up early, and they were given some indication there was a chance at getting tickets when the advertised on sale started, so they stayed. I had to work nearby at 3 so it didn’t really matter to me, I’ve been disappointed by this band dozens of times. But like literally hundreds of people wasted their time and they could have easily been told at any point “don’t do this, go home”

That's definitely odd. I don't understand why there's only 60 tickets being given to the public.

Are the rest for family, friends and management? If so, they should've made that clear.

Pretty shitty way to deceive the most hardcore fans who'd come out for something like this.

This one has Zeitgeist on it which I guarantee is better than any of the songs that will come out of the reunion

Anybody have a source for leaking the set? Perhaps a bloke outside the venue?

This could be a pretty awesome set. Definitely the sorta gig where you can expect to hear some rarities

There is a chance this can be the policy for the arena tour; it seems to be the new trend for management, or maybe even artists, seeking more control over their audience. Cell phones are distracting, yes, but remember the Double Door shows in 1995 ? No cell phones, but people chatting away all night. And Viper Room 1998 ? No phones, but all the chatting in the crowd ruined it.

I doubt it. Jack White and Maynard James Keenan are the only guys who do it on larger tours, and in Maynard's case it's probably more trouble than it's worth with the bad PR he gets for it.

I actually can see the appeal for it, it's just for my job I cannot be away from a cell phone for 3-4 hours during prime hours so I'd never go to a show with that policy, unless it was an original Pumpkins or Led Zeppelin reunion show.

i think it's very possible they will try to implement this into the tour, especially with how big he's trying to hype as some type of broadway production.

the viper room 98 show is indeed disappointing to here all those pricks in LA just chatting away while billy and james play adore songs for the first time live before the album was out.. really awesome performances of blissed and gone and crestfallen, all the talking really ruins it though.

last visit billy had to viper room he stormed off stage after that uke came out lol

they used it for that little tour that john mayer and dave chapelle went on as well from what i recall..

people are just going to have to get more creative with their gear if they want to record these shows.. some were able to film 'the book of mormon' at several different venues, which is surprising to me as the few venues i saw this they had a whole staff of dudes just eye-fucking everyone they thought might be trying to use a phone or recording device.

years ago when i was in line waiting for a machina concert year i realized they were patting everyone down and taking away recording gear, so i shoved a nice digital camera down my pants and tucked it directly under my balls where i knew they wouldn't pat me down (hopefully).. worked out great, took close to 30 pictures and still have them today.

it's just how bad you want it

Jesus Needs a Hit sounds like an actual 2018 Corgan song title. You totally had me going.
