also i'll have you all know that voting between sides of a double-album is a cardinal sin in the church of bald saviours (as it is currently known) and anyone who has picked aside will be demanded a high penance (most likely listening to a bad YouTube upload of Widow Wake My Mind several times in a row)
you've been warned also: happy quadruple DEVIL'S POST to me!!! |

Dawn to Dusk is more consistent, but I love more of the songs on Twilight to Starlight on an emotional level, even though it's got some of the truly worst SP songs (TOASE, WOCOAN)

I really can't choose and therefore I submit an abstention.
Dawn to Dusk is probably as solid a single disc as Siamese Dream. It's absolutely relentless in its quality. Twilight to Starlight pushes the band's sound and identity to the furthest extremes, producing a whimsical range of soundscapes which delights the senses. |

why does it seem that no one likes take me down AND lily?
i think that last bit of 5 songs after X.Y.U. are pretty refreshing after the heavy feel of the preceeding tracks, though We Only Come Out AT Night is the weak link i dont think any track on mellon collie is straight up terrible. |

My fave song of all time is Stumbleine so it has to be Twilight to Starlight.
Otherwise, I couldn’t pick. |

An utterly brutal poll. As titled, the ultimate.
I picked one. Dawn. But, in doing so, it feels like I've left out huge swaths of memories that those other 14 songs are tied to, like I'm leaving 14 kids behind in a parking lot somewhere. MCIS was my first album purchased, I didn't even own a damn CD player yet. I remember being cool and just picking it up at Best Buy and my mom who had driven me there was all "what's that thing?" and I nonchalantly told her that it was a CD, as if it's something I would buy all the time, right? I found an old CD player boom box in the garage and snuck it up to my room and would listen with headphones or when nobody else was home at normal human being volumes like some sort of contraband. Which is weird, because I grew up in a very musically friendly home - Dad is a huge rock and roll guy - but still, it was like SP was my secret or something. That CD player had a little window on the top of it so you could see the disc as it spun, which those pink and blue discs looked v epic while doing. Anyways, back on track here - but Dawn. It's mainly due to the fact that the songs I latched onto hardest and fastest when I got it - Bullet and Tonight - were both on disc one. And songs like TOASE were outta my league at the time. That all said - In the Arms of Sleep, By Starlight are such gems - forget it. Two of the absolute best. By Starlight and Farewell and Goodnight are so good that I rarely choose to listen to them to not burn either out. |

You really can’t have one without the other, but disc 2 is my choice. It’s like the night side of the record, and some of their most creative material exists on this half.
Also TOASE is fucking GREAT. Some of the best riffs/rhythm guitar playing from the band and you can’t go wrong with a loud af noise solo mixed in with iha’s Signature space guns. And then to have that craziness followed by ruby? Also love what feels like a small EP of weird songs right after xyu. I remember that whole section really standing out the first time I’d heard it as a new 14 year old fan. |

WOCOAN is a pure delight. It’s like one of those kooky tracks on the white album that is silly but you still can’t help but love. Kind of like how tooks parents feel about him.

Disc One has the best track (Tonight) and a few others, but Bullet - To Forgive - TOASE - Love is the worst sequence of tracks across either disc.
So... Disc Two wins. |

BTW, I don't think senescitude is a word.
Are you asking which CD is worse? Is this a trick pole? |
