Because apparently Billy wrote Silvery Sometimes as a homage to Robert Smith.

We have to wait for the video, Corgan and Strawberry have created, to be totally fair in a comparison.

I'm therefore sorry that I already voted. Can someone explain how I can erase my vote?

Not looking good for Billco if (Ghosts) can't hold its own against a semi-obscure early Cure single.

The new video will become a stunning classic with a wild bunch of Sad Machines.

Everything the Cure has done is better than SP, barring the later period albums which are about equal.

The best outcome of this new SP release was getting Charlotte Sometimes stuck in my head again. What a great track. I have already forgotten what silvery sounds like. The three of you that voted SP

And quite a bit of the early stuff. Seventeen Seconds is boring. Sorry but it's true. "A Forest," while good, is a totally overrated, over-appreciated track. Also most of the original album sucks (UK edition). And some of Pornography (Strange Day is solid gold, though).

Wrong. Seventeen Seconds is incredible. A Forest is classic. And Pornography is 10/10, not a weak track on it.

Hmm. I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. I think that Faith is clearly a much better conceived and executed album than either of those, I would give SS a 5/10, Pornography a 7/10, Faith 9/10. Drowning man is 10x better than A Forest.

I do agree Faith is the best of those three - not over-the-top melodramatic like Porno or overly bare/brittle like 17 could be - probably a top 5 if not top 3 Cure album for me, tbh

Disintegration > Head on the Door > The Cure > Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me > Japanese Whispers (Fuck you I'm countin' it!) > Faith > Pornography > Wish > Three Imaginary Boys > Seventeen Seconds > The Top > Wild Mood Swings > 4.13 Dream > Bloodflowers

I.M.O.!

How can you even come up with a list? I honestly find it completely impossible considering how different all albums are.

I find myself revisiting Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me a lot, even though its definitely not my favourite.

i just kind of took into account my preferences over the past decade or so of being a fan - s/t was my intro album so that one kinda holds a special place, & Head On the Door was actually my favorite for a while but I just can't deny the sheer power of Disint, even if I love most of the others

Find myself listening to their early jumpy post punk more than Dist. et all.

17 Seconds is a consistent 10/10
