5. Wound
6. Crying Tree of Mercury
7. Real Love
8. Sacred and Profane
9. Raindrops + Sunshowers

11. Glass and the Ghost Children
12. Speed Kills
13. Everlasting Gaze

3: ALIGNMENT WITH GOD
4-5: LOVE/GIRL
6-8: CROSSROADS
9-10: LOSS OF BALANCE
11-12: DESCENT
13-15: ALONE (NEG)
16: ALONE (POS)
17: PEACE

Aside from this, every time I revisit the subject matter I'm reminded that the main problem with "the story" is that it has such a weak beginning and ending. The bulk of the songs are basically the guts of the story and both the intro and outro seem tacked on.
I'd say the end is just this kind of anticlimactic affair where he just abandons everything for the sake of crazy street preacherdom, but the opening is pretty much in medias res and badly truncated: "one day a possibly insane rockstar heard a voice on the radio and decided to go on tour."

Tried to pare mine down to 2 CDs by excising most things dating from the Adore period and belabored plot points (also assuming TTT was from June's POV):

01. Glass' Theme
02. The Imploding Voice
03. Cash Car Star
04. Stand Inside Your Love
05. The Sacred And Profane
06. Real Love
07. Glass + The Ghost Children
08. Raindrops + Sunshowers
09. Try, Try, Try
10. Vanity
11. Speed Kills
12. Blue Skies Bring Tears

01. Heavy Metal Machine
02. The Crying Tree Of Mercury
03. Wound
04. This Time
05. Heavy Metal Machine
06. The Everlasting Gaze
07. In My Body
08. I Of The Mourning
09. Slow Dawn
10. Home
11. With Every Light
12. Age Of Innocence

So, to go back to the hearing the voice of God in the radio, then saying it to 'June' thinking she can't hear. Is it possible it's behind the 'Who decides who's crazy' part in Luna? As in the notes on the remaster Billy says it's about telling someone you love them and finding out they don't love you. Might be a callback even that far.

Even if it's about her why can it not be the source of the idea used again later in Machina?

Seems pretty random. Why not the song Cherry? Or Set The Ray To Jerry? Or Galapogos? Or Molassekiss?

I think you've missed my point about how I was connecting them, it wasn't just a song plucked out of the air at random.

Heh heh! Not saying I was sure about it just that I wondering if both Luna and the part where June says she never loved him were both based on an interaction he had with Courtney at some point. I wasn't alluding to him laying the seeds of his grand mystery all the way back then. XoD

The CHANGE campaign for Machina doesn't really take off.
454 votes yet are not a big success.

https://www.change.org/p/make-this-p...-album-machina

Ben Leighty has started this petition to EMI/Universal Music Group.
In celebration of The Smashing Pumpkins’ upcoming summer reunion tour, fans are coming together to petition for the release of the award-winning album, Machina/The Machines of God, as well as its counterpart, Machina II/The Friends & Enemies of Modern Music. With more than 21 million albums sold in the United States alone, The Smashing Pumpkins are one of the most successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 1990’s and beyond. 6 reissue projects have already been released with much success and fanfare, including: Gish, Siamese Dream, Pisces Iscariot, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, The Aeroplane Flies High and Adore.

"We the fans are coming together to ask EMI/Universal Music Group to let the band finish their reissue campaign with an album that has come to be known as a masterpiece by many. Already certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), Machina would undoubtedly sell quickly and in great numbers, especially with the media buzz and promotion of the Shiny and Oh So Bright Tour. #FREEMACHINA"

Still only 465 have voted for the reissue. Now it will never happen
