I wish I didn't (need to) own one. Taking the bus is not an option. I'd rather walk to work and just go driving for vacations, etc.

2002 Mitsubishi Galant. It's a piece of shit, but it gets me from point A to point B (and on weekends, point C).
Thinking about saving for an upgrade if I get the job I've got an interview for on Thursday. |

I just had a mechanic friend replace one of my two serpentine belts, but my car is still squealing when I start it up. The other one is gonna be a pain to replace because of its location. I also need new brakes, new back tires, a new windshield, probably a new timing belt (I think you're supposed to replace it every 60,000-80,000 miles, something like that), and the front bumper needs some body work.

i did hate that car, and I'm not sad it's gone. i bought it new and i dont know what i was thinking, except it was cheap and i could afford a new car for the first (only) time in my life
i would be at pro level gaming the system if i had done it on purpose. but no, just unlucky and lucky at the same time |

current car: 2001 Nissan X-Trail (like a smaller X-Terra for those of you in countries that don't have it) previous car: 1993 Bitsaremissing (er, Mitsubishi) Magna Wagon - terrible. Last edited by brendo_91 : 01-25-2012 at 03:23 AM. |

Some of you have some old cars. I have a 2004 Totota Camery and I thought THAT was old.
The one I had before that was a 2002 Toyota Corolla. I'd still have it if the one of the cylinders didn't shit the bed. |

Kia's basically a Huyndai now, right? A friend has whatever that Kia SUV is and it's pretty nice.

The Santa Fe is a really nice vehicle, I like it much more than the Lexus RX 350. A friend traded his 2011 RX 350 for the 2012 Santa Fe and says it drives better.
We rented a Huyndai Sonata a few weeks ago, I absolutely hate cars but it had a very nice ride. |

the new sonatas are surprisingly nice. i wouldn't be embarrassed to drive one unlike the older models
i want to get a newer model 4runner. my 98 is still looking good (mainly because black coats age better) but the repair costs are a nightmare. just not ready to commit to a car note quite yet |

I drive a '99 Honda Prelude, and love it. No idea what I'll replace it with when she eventually dies. Put a ton of money into the stereo a while back, so hoping it runs for a long time. Wife and I upgraded her 1991 Volvo 740 to a 2006 Volvo XC70 just recently... so now we've got a great road trip/family (if/when that happens) vehicle. |

my girlfriend wrecked her scion xb last fall and is now thinking about getting another one. hers was 2005 and she is finding comparable ones for around 7-8000. she has 8000 in insurance money to play with. y'all have any other recs? she wants something that'll get good gas mileage and into which you can stuff a fair amount of stuff.
