I did like a few cuts from TMMLP2, but it was hardly what I would deem a comeback. |

You were right, FlamingGlobes. You've been right all along. This album featured Beyonce and Ed Sheeran. I did not like it.
I loved even Recovery and TMMLP2, on that note. Survival is such a badass song. Yeah, it doesn't hold up. I still love listening to it though. This is all from the part of my life when I used to listen to rap and hip-hop, and that's it. |

Mainstream rap is getting worse by the day, sigh.
Oh, also: |

YES! Those two albums with an addition of The Life and Time's Tragic Boogie make up my holy grail. I just really dig the whole distorted spacerock kinda scene.

Also, as mentioned in another thread (or this one?), I can never get enough of Downward is Heavenward. Not sure it falls under the same umbrella, but I tend to lump it in with that whole scene/sound.

SP, Hum, and Failure are my trifecta
tbh I like You'd Prefer An Astronaut a tiny bit more because I'm a space dork |

I love both, but Downward just has such a glorious, magnificent, melodic bend to it that it edges out Astronaut for me.

Oh dude that album is amazing, Green to Me and If You Are To Bloom were my freshman year anthems. And as for Hum in general I usually also just kinda shove it in that same group. They've all got that distinct almost but not really shoegaze sound.

The Failure and Hum tour was one of the highlights of my concert life. I never EVER thought that would happen in my lifetime. And yet I bought NO merch lmao

I heard about the tour and flipped by shit, but then I found out I had to be out of town the week they were coming to my city. Hoping they may do another one if Failure doesn't go on a 16 year hiatus again, but sadly in retrospect it seems like more of a once in a lifetime kinda thing. How was it for you?

Indescribable lol but I hate to be that girl cuz I've missed out on loads of great tours, sadly. But have been lucky enough to see a lot of them, too!

Hum is like the opposite of doom metal or whatever it is you listen to lol. I hope you like 'em. Failure is ridiculously talented, too. I can't fathom what someone wouldn't like about them, but to each their own. They are so layered musically and the lyrics shake me to the core. But Fantastic Planet and a lot of Magnified is about heroin and well, you know me.
IMO everything Ken Andrews touches that isn't a cover is gold. I love his solo album, ON, and Year of the Rabbit. |

I listen to a handful of doom bands. The rest is shoegaze, post-rock, black metal, alternative, drone, etc. Even some motherfucking brit-pop.
Only God can judge me. |

Matt would have been 41 on the 16th. He passed in his sleep of a seizure in 2003 at the age of 26. So sad. http://ten-grand.com/what |
