Default What do you consider to be Jimmy Chamberlin's greatest performance?

Maybe you have a live and also an in-studio favorite?

Obviously stuff like United States, Silverfuck, Geek USA, Ode to No One, Tristessa are up there.

Maybe there is a stealth favorite you have or something nuanced that many people look past?

Is there a certain tour you consider JC to be at his absolute peak?

It's not even that good by Jimmy's standards. It's just really fucking fast.

All those 35 minute Silverfucks during the MCIS tour where he really just wanted to get offstage and do smack -->

also the time when he shook my hand and talked about baseball with me

Jellybelly obv

but also, for the less-mentioned i always enjoy hearing him on Lucky 13, as little of a shit as I give about the song itself

and the end of Everlasting Gaze is just mind-blowing

as far as subtler stuff, the hot-rod work on "Whir" is pretty stunning

You’ve said it already but Geek USA is up there.

Zeitgeist also contained some of his best drumming.

And that too. Not off the beaten path by any means, but man - fill at 3:10 is jet hot. The whole thing is just laughable when you get right down to it.

Quietly and underrated to me are his performances of Stellar, STRTJ, This Time.

The song is atrocious, but there's a fill he plays in Rock On that's fuxking cosmic bro

yeah Rock On is very similar to Lucky 13 to me in the sense that they're pretty disposable as songs but have fuckin' legit Jim performances

ill mention songs that never get mentioned-- tales of a scorched earth. it's buried under a lot of guitars, but the instrumental bonus track on the MCIS reissue brings the drums more up front and HOLY SHIT.

Also, the latest performances of superchrist are insane, but so is the recorded version.

Home. Someone said zeitgeist is his best work but I think he really does his best on Machina II.

When it comes to ballads, he really makes Galapagos that much better.

It was kinda mesmerizing to see him look so exhausted during the 'i need you baby' breakdown. Cause normally he can blast out songs at 2x studio tempo and look like he's not even trying
