LDS also made music; posted an album on bandcamp, even.

LDS > Ryan Adams

There is an article out there written by his wife after he died which is extremely moving.

He was horrible to many on here, but you could see his intelligence shine through the amusing snark.

His song 'the server is a harsh mistress' still makes me smile.

RIP LDS

Have never listened to Ryan Adams. He said some creepy shit about Mandy Moore a few months back so I did not find this surprising.

The thing about Rock N Roll is that it was recorded as a joke. In Ryan Adams' eyes, you "don't understand his art" if you like that album (or some shit).

I think of LDS now that I’m back, whenever I drive past what he said was his favourite local coffee roaster.

I have a soft spot for New York, New York, because it was written pre-9/11 and that was when I visited, and there’s nothing special about the song but I guess it evokes emotion in me because of the memories I have of a simpler time or some shit, I dunno. It’s weird now watching the video and seeing the towers.

Plus it has a sax solo and being a child of the 80s I unironically and ironically appreciate sax solos, simultaneously. So, bonus points for that.
