Transformers the last knight

Because I have kids who wanted to go. I enjoyed the audiovisual special effects and academy award winner Anthony Hopkins. For those two things I award it 2/5.

today i found out David Lynch had done a promotional short movie for Dior, set and filmed in Shanghai. naturally, i was intrigued, cause i love lynch's older work. whenever i caught a glimpse of his newer stuff, it almost always hit me as insincere or total bollocks. just imitation of the tortured, fucked up thing he used to do, but void of the intention that made his past work so great.

this movie takes that to the extreme: it's so fucking lean and sloppy, it's embarrassing. it looks and feels like a bad student film, like it was shot on a fucking iphone or something. the direction and acting and writing and everything is just horrendous.

i think it's brilliant, though, that lynch could release this absolute garbage and get paid by a massive cosmetics company, and then have legions of sniveling, clueless fans worship it like it is his masterpiece. just look at the youtube comments: "omg lynch is a genius. so dreemlike" comments abound.

Unhappy

that's harsh.

i read the best solution for that is just comitting to download something every day, regardless if it's good or not. even random pictures or text files would do.

Shut In had some Shining references, which seemed really presumptuous for such a poor film.

The mysterious/timeless orchestral theme to 1962's To Kill A Mockingbird friekin kills me every time, just gobs of sobs. Felt good, best cry I've had since my last bowel movement

You mean your reaction to my mysterious post was so timeless you started to cry too, and in fact were so doggone moved you accidentally shot all the bluejays you want? Sound like you need a white savior in your life, may I recommend the films of Gregory Peck
