I haven't. I kinda wrote Mel off after Passion of the Christ/racist misogyny.

I'll always have a special place in my heart for the Lethal Weapons and other Mel flicks from that era.

During the filming of Hamlet, Gibson would relieve pressure on the set by mooning the cast and crew, directly following a serious scene.

i'm just trying to imagine this.. they're filming in mexico. they've gone through the trouble to do 6 hours of makeup on everyone each day, they've got incredibly intricate costuming, they've had the actors spend months learning this mayan language to keep everything very authentic. they've just undertaken the presumably somber task of creating what is meant to be a field of corpses so that our protagonist can flee in terror across it
but wait! wily old mel's got an idea! wouldn't it be a gas, an absolute gas, if we spoofed those children's books, where you find the guy in the stripes? you know the ones, the waldo ones. yes, where's waldo! yes, we're gonna do that. we're gonna do a where's waldo wait, what? a waldo thing! with all these bodies. you can't be serious.. ...well i'm not joking.. like for what though? for a picture? this is some sort of macabre photo opportunity? no, that's the kicker, it's gonna be IN the film. it'll be in the film. we're gonna put it IN the FILM. well the final edit is a battle for another day, but assuming we humor this strange request to create such an image.. like.. we have a shooting schedule to adhere to, i'm responsible for the budgets and the schedule, any extra delay is going to cost us potentially hundreds of thousands of dollars at day.. perhaps this isn't the best use of anyone's time or resources oh come on, don't be a dickweed. this is a mel gibson film! he's the guy! it's for mel! so find a way. we just need to order the outfit and it'll probably take like a week to get here.. well no, i mean... we've got a very highly qualified costume department here. this isn't what anyone signed up for and it feels wildly inappropriate, but if mel insists this needs to happen, i am certain we can whip something up.. we've got red dye and surely someone on the crew has thick-rimmed glasses.. we'll just need to figure out the hat situation and perhaps an umbrella or something.. let me look into it. but for the record, i hate this. it's fucked up and it's weird its for MEL! its for mel. just get it done. for mel. |

Hey, at least it wasn't one of those shoehorned cameos that rip you directly out of the film.

he's the author of the following books:
The 48 Laws of Power The Art of Seduction The 33 Strategies of War The 50th Law Mastery The Laws of Human Nature i've only read parts of one of them and it was super manipulative but i think generally they're well regarded by some prominent musicians/business people https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert...merican_author) |

Like Evil Dead, but instead of deadites, it's rich people. Who are also satanists. 7/10 |

Blade Runner - 4/5
It really feels rough on so many different aspects, but it still is very unique an interesting. It's world building is terrific. |

Kinda blows my mind that Harrison Ford is as big of a star as he is... I mean, I like quite a few of his roles and he def has charisma... but watching those old movies nowadays he seems like he's putting zero effort a lot of the time.

There were some patches I thought dragged; however, the dark humor and Agent Smith with long hair and boobs carried it to the finish line. My rating might improve with a later watch.

i just thought the protagonist's change in character was amazing. at first she's this fatuous giggling mess and by the end she's a stone cold killer.
did it remind you of get out? similar premise. |

Yeah, felt in line with a lot of recent horror fare (which is good!) like Get Out, Don't Breathe etc. I just think my standers are or were a little high for this one.
