i don't care for boris, ghost and isis.

i have to say i am really picky when it comes to heavy music.

i don't like:

- boring, pentatonic riffs
- cheesy metal
- blastbeats for over a few seconds
- too much atmospheric (keyboard) stuff

that basically leaves Harvey Milk, Converge, Keelhaul, early Mastodon, Gaza, Zebulon Pike, a lot small local (anywhere) bands.

i prefer noise rock in general.

being a living legend, you guys are probably really interested in what specific ingredients i like and dislike, so there you are. you're free to use it however you like. if you seek any advice, i'm here.

The Cure - The Top

My least favorite Cure album from the '80s, but not entirely bad.

Hot Chip - Made in the Dark

Got kind of an unfair rep following The Warning but is almost just as good.

I pretty much alternated between reading and fucking around on the internet all day and had music playing the whole time.

Radiohead - Amnesiac
Radiohead - Hail to the Thief
Radiohead - Airbag/How Am I Driving? [EP]
Outkast - Aquemini
...Trail of Dead - Madonna
...Trail of Dead - The Secret of Elena's Tomb [EP]
Cursive - The Storms of Early Summer: Semantics of Song
The Mountain Goats - Sail Babylon Springs [EP]
Pixies - At the BBC

I never realized that post OK Computer Radiohead make for pretty good music to have on the background while reading.

I like it, though it's probably the least listened of all the records of theirs I own. Can't compare it to Source Tags, though.

That reminds me, I listened to The Century of Self over shower/breakfast/smart-phoning this morning. Been on a real Trail of Dead bender these days, I spose.

Tomahawk - Mit Gas

must have been a year or ten since i heard this. Wasn't really familiar to The Jesus Lizard beforehand, it's cool to recognize Duane Denisons guitar in this.

I feel this

With the exception of traditional Turkish, which for me is occasionally necessary as a palate cleanser/scrub brush for a gunky soul

I still like Origin of Symmetry quite a bit, but kind of burned out on them in recent years.

This album sounds good as hell. I like that this one feels a little less labored over. Cus where do you go from TPAB? It's just a joy to hear him rhyme

Idk he enunciates pretty clearly to me. Especially compared to other current bigger names.

I'd highly recommend Starflyer 59 Silver and Gold for fans of Siamese Dream and Pisces Iscariot. Very riffy.
