Formula for prescription medication advertising

Use a font without any sharp angles. Rounded corners and flowing angles are a must. Font color must be white, and the accompanying logo must use pastel colors.

The actors must be good looking, with perfect teeth. The actors should not be outrageously attractive, because the average consumer may not be able to relate to such a person.

The actors must be engaged in activities that involve movement, preferably outdoors.

Indoor settings are acceptable as long as the main subject is surrounded by other attractive humans having fun (think birthday parties, athletic events, etc.), but indoor scenes must be balanced out by also including scenes of outdoor activities.

Outdoor scenes must inclood some combination of blue skies, sunshine, beaches, and green foliage.

If the target market is male consumers age 55 and above, inclood a scene with the main subject driving a sports car (convertible). The main subject should be accompanied by an attractive female who is much younger than him, but the illusion of similar age will be achieved by adding artificial grey or white highlights to her hair.

surely if it's prescripton, the doctor is deciding what you're getting?
or are the doctors the target audience of these ads?
or do the ads add to the placebo effect of the medication?

Since people mostly have to pay for drugs themselves, they want us to demand specific brands from our doctors.

this is terrible but when i was in the psych hospital they were also doing drug trails (overnight or several days) and we would pass by people being monitored. they tested mostly psych meds and STD pills and would joke about which they were there for. i was in that hospital for like 2 months total over about 1.5 years and probably saw 10 small groups of ppl

These are important questions. I suspect the answer is so complex and nefarious that we're better off not knowing. One thing about marketing though is it plays off your emotions, which in the case of medical anxiety are almost exclusively fear and uncertainty. Farting too much? ASK YOUR DOCTOR IF YOU HAVE ASS CANCER FOR THE LOW PRICE OF FUCK YOU MERICA. Then they either just give you the fuckin thing, or a bunch of expensive tests later they're like yeah you're fine but you do incidentally have ANXIETY for which roughly 30 million Americans are prescribed some form of psychoactive substance

So yeah I feel it is a multifaceted marketing approach. Even if you don't end up getting FART STOPPER DRUG BROUGHT TO YOU BY ASTROZENECA you do end up with medical anxiety which essentially is creating a patient for life. It's fucking brilliant, evil stuff, especially when we consider that 1) all drugs have side effects, and 2) many common symptoms are treatable through lifestyle changes or non-drug approaches such as psychotherapy or yoga. I literally did a yoga class with seniors where you all stimulate your bowels and make yourselves fart.

And for the record, my mother is a pharmacist, and I myself am a chemist who uses 2 inhalers, a nasal spray, an antihistamine, and a proton pump inhibitor daily, so I am by no means saying drugs are bad, mkay? Just that, we should leave this shit to the professionals and quit creating "need" where there wasn't one.
