About the opposite here... our rock station plays Nirvana, Chili Peppers, and Pearl Jam at least once a day, probably more. The only Pumpkins song they play is BWBW, and that's about once ever three months or so.

From my experiences the bands that people think of when they hear about 90s alt are Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam. The Pumpkins made it big just when the grunge scene was dying down which is partly why they are unfairly forgotten about when it comes to the grunge scene.

well I think he's not exactly doing himself justice by saying things like that...he's a little off lately when he speaks in interviews. The reporters are trying to goad him and he isn't standing up to it. A few were really good though - like the Onion one was great.

But you have to admit too, that quote sounds much worse taken out of the context of the interview...in the interview he seems more humble about how amazing the experience was and the quote seems more like a "I can't believe that I could create a band that was THAT huge" Taken out of context it does sound really horrible.

But like I said he should know better how what he says is taken, he still said that quote and even in cotnext it's a little much. Eh but I love his music even if his interview skills occasionally suck.

but the thing is.... corgan's honest... that's what i love about the guy. he speaks from the heart even if he should think about it first. most people give the generic band answers and hold their tongues.

in time, it'll all be taken in context... because his music will be timeless.

kinda like david gilmore but more extreme

#1. You have no way to prove that what Billy says is the truth.
#2. You have no way to prove that his music will be timeless.

Conclusion: Shut the fuck up in regards to assumptions. Is it possible for you to view Billy as a human being and not some genius/god who goes out of his way to honestly smear allegations all over his former friends and bandmates?

Yeah, but you have no way to prove he is not being honest either, why would he lie. There is a world of difference between speaking your mind and being honest and always speaking the truth. People are rather often honestly wrong.
