I usually order the deconstructed Protein Connoisseur's with an atmosphere of Himalayan liquid nitrogen.

My favorite pastry expression is "pie in the horse"

do any of you put cobbler and quiche in the same category as pie? (a panini is a sandwich, no?)

there weren't a lot of pies in neighborhood growing up. a diner called norma's had some but they were always behind glass and i thought they looked cool, but not necessarily appetizing. a friend in 3rd grade also brought meringue pie to school for a project and that's when i learned you could whip eggs like that.

the first pie i really ate was when i made a pumpkin pie in my teens. i really only like pumpkin, variations of pecan, and chocolate pies.

Does being a filling surrounded by bread make schnitzel a sandwich, too?

Then again, the extent to which said filling is surrounded might push things into wrap terrain.

you're not adding much here. pie can be both and have you ever seen a pie, cobbler, and quiche next to one another? well, i have. and in some cases pie and cobblers are nearly identical! this is why i mentioned that pie is to cobbler and quiche as sandwich is to panini. keep up, son!

you don't need to mansplain food to me.

If anybody tells me I'm getting a pie and it doesn't turn out to be a single-serve steak and cheese as pictured, you can guarantee I'm going to kick off.

P.S. The image (taken from Google) was shot from the lip of a volcano (Mount Eden) because we're kvlt as down here (in Auckland) and I dare you to fuck with the baked goods (e.g. pies) of a people that are totally at peace with the prospect of very suddenly becoming completely submerged in lava (or magma in the event that we are somehow transplanted from the surface to beneath some sort of qualifying tectonic threshold).

Angry

I was watching The Great British Bake-Off and they had this challenge to make American-style pies, and all the contestants and judges were like "I've never had an American pie I wanted to eat again"

I won't even tell you what grotesqueries they came up with in imitation

The British and their cardamom and treacle and passionfruit curd, and they fucking dare to shit on like an honest apple pie

The war was never truly over

Anyway the answer to the question is no
