i've done a mildly decent bit of drugs [alcohol, kava, dph, dxm, adderall, shrooms, weed, acid] and somehow i don't really have any huge desire to do any of them again [even the addictive ones] besides alcohol

I'm not sure if I buy the "did tons of acid" story. Seems like something that Corgan likely concocted to give the album some extra perceived legitimacy. Maybe he did it like 3 or 4 times or something

I think James’ “addiction” is his co-dependency with Billy. He just sits there while Billy goes off and literally takes up zero space in interviews, even when directly questioned. D’Arcy mentioned in her interview with Brett that he pretty much never dared cross Billy and that she was disappointed he wouldn’t stand up for her re: the reunion tour.

I have done acid an unknown number of times; we'll put it like that. Anything can be psychologically addictive. There are people who are addicted to weed.

there is the possibility you are right, but Corgan has talked pretty extensively about the band's heavy use of LSD in the early days. he detailed it in the confessions. during the parking garage practices, they apparently took acid 2 at a time and jammed the fuck out

I've just never gotten LSD user vibes from Corgan at all. He had too big of an ego and always got set off from these little superficial slights. Someone who had experience with LSD wouldn't give 2 shits about stuff like that.

Think back to Billy and his SPIN article with Kim Thayl, that aint that typical behavior from someone 3 years removed from heavy LSD use.
