I'm guessing the "donut" is the accretion disk, and the hole in the middle is the event horizon, tho

the hole in the middle would be beyond the event horizon, because it's the point at which light cannot escape, right?

Yeah you can go in there they said, you won’t be crushed to death or ripped to shreds like we’d once fantasized, instead you would just go inside but the only thing is that you can never come back

So better pick your desert island dvd and/or cd and some comfy shorts and pack some sandwiches

I believe so, yeah. It's dark because we're getting no light from there. We're only getting light from the swirl of matter falling into the hole (accretion disk) because it moves so fast and creates so much friction that it gets hot and produces light.

Yeah, I think it depends on the size of the black hole and other properties, like whether it's a rotating hole or not, but there isn't necessarily anything that different between the space inside and outside an event horizon, and if you crossed one, you wouldn't necessarily notice anything different about the region of space you were in. It's just that, if you tried to turn back, there would be no "back" to turn to. Spacetime is so curved that all lines lead to the same direction.

not many ppl know this, but when the black hole folds up space and creates like the crease in the time space continuesque, there are certain "spots" where time slows down to a complete and absolute halt. and then like, if you get trapped there, just moments before swirling into sweet death or inconceivable adventure in a parallel dimension, you are cursed with an infinity of existing aimlessly in a vacuum, knowing that you are a sentient lifeform originally intended to someday expire, stuck indefinitely in a stitching point in the nexus of the universe, unable to age, unable to progress, unable to die, and all you can do is gaze into the bottomless black hole that you so wish you could have plunged down only to end it all like is your basic human right.

I guess you'd be caught between firings of the synapses, anyway, the whole situation working out to be more or less akin to death.

Time would go at a normal rate according to the reference frame of the person crossing the event horizon, but observers outside would observe that person slowing down and eventually freezing.

What if you were caught whilst a firing is going off? So like if u were jackin on the approach, and timed it just right to coincide with your moment of crisis, u could maintain perpetual orgasm, at least until god dies?

meanwhile everyone observing from the outside would grow old and die and the folks speeding over the event horizon would continue slowing down in time at a never-ending rate, meaning they would never technically freeze, just slow down literally forever into infinity becoming two-dimensionally pasted onto the "surface" of the black hole

maybe

Lots of faith that you MIGHT MAYBE avoid gravitational disintegration in these hypotheticals. Optimism is good.
