Default The Lollapalooza version of I Am One is way underappreciated.

This tempo fucking rips and I feel like the palm muted riff inspired Fuck You later on. Also that solo and Big Bill's energy is on another level

tbh it was pretty universally regarded as terrible, especially the NY Randall's Island performance if that's the one you posted. It's Bill at peak megalomania. He berates the audience and it goes on way too long. The best thing we got out of it was the lyrics for Zero though. I still have friends who saw SP at Lolla and stopped liking them because of Bill's "nothing, NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING" that went on for 10 minutes. even D'arcy is fed up with his shit here and stops playing bass and does her nails, on stage.

D’Arcy being fed up with Billy’s shit is pretty common.

It’s hilarious and entertaining with how misguided and pretentious it is. But I can’t imagine having to stand in the summer heat and listen to it

I don’t know if I could play that I Am One bassline for 10 minutes straight without wanting to die of boredom. Even for Lolla headliner money.

The Vieuphoria I Am One rant was pretty cool cause it was fairly concise, gimme gimme gimme NOTHIN! I remember buying the VHS tape and watching it at home with my mom and sister. When it got to this part they were like "what's this dudes problem?". Lol

when i was first getting into the pumpkins i listened to cherub rock in the car with my dad [i was like 15 and learning to drive or some shit]

after the big outro he was all sarcastic like 'well okayyy'

can't quite stand being around him for most things

Thumbs up

I used to put a lot of stuff on in the car when my dad would drive (I wasn't old enough yet), and he never said one word about any of it, until SD; when it finished, he said "that was some great drumming."

My dad doesn't, like, listen to music? He just doesn't seem to enjoy it, which I realize makes him a psychopath and I am working through that. But apparently Jimmy's powers are just undeniable.

was tickled by this this last night; it continues to deliver today

my stepdad walked into the room once as i was watching vieuphoria. he said something to the effect of, "who's the guy with the dorky haircut?"

i was silently miffed, but he was totally right and i knew it at the time, too

And still bitter as ever in 2020. On stage thinking you hit an epiphany comparing crowd surfers to life’s struggles. I was waiting to see how long before Darcy took a seat lmaoo

I wanna sync up a bunch of recordings of the live version of I Am One so that they all line up right when the final chorus starts so that it's just a cacophony of GIMMEGIMMEGIMMEGIMMENOTHINGGIMMENOTHINGNOTHINGGIMM EGIMMEGIMMEGIMMENOTHING

that would sound hilariously awful

Being mean or sarcastic about stuff your kids like is like classic disrespectful parenting and actual child abuse imo

My dad is the exact same way, used to ridicule all the stuff i liked best. No wonder it’s a daily struggle not to hate my own stupid guts. Sorry that happened to u ram, what a bummer
