Sure, it's good to live your life the way you wanna live it and to be the person you wanna be. But it just seems childish to put some sorta label on that... Like, I'm a PUNK, always have been a punk!. It's like what the fuck is that even supposed to mean? It's like someone is trying to base there life on what was a cultural fad.

what's so fake and dumb about skateboarding? it's basically just a type of extreme sport and a means of transportation.

I was never that great at skateboarding. But it was still a thrilling accomplishment when I ollied off of my first set of stairs, and then you'd get the same kinda thrill of accomplishment the more stairs you can ollie over.

Real fucking life.

You don't need an internet connection to have heard of the shit you recommend. It already has plenty of exposure and public awareness without you insisting that more people need to allocate their attention towards all the bands that they are well and truly grown out of.
it's on behalf of the lurkers, bro. they may never heard these totally rad STP deep cuts

if you had read what I actually said that set this off, you'd noticed that
a) I was referring to them as people who still life the "'punk lifestyle' for better or worse" - they would not ever call themselves punk with 50
b) I said that I do respect them for who they are, not THEY are PROUD of whatever the fuck they're doing.

fair enough... At this point I just see punk as a genre of music, I just don't believe it's some sort of singular life style.. It all becomes sorta contrived.

I recall you somehow baited me into that. But whatever, I'd never heard of the group until then, and it was like you were passing them off as a new group to make me look like a fool, and it worked to a tee

fuzzy seems to be stuck in some kind of feedback loop where he thinks because he plays a guitar that he has some kind of special insight even though he can't even google swans to see why they sound kinda like sonic youth

I do know a lot about musical history. But Swans really aren't a kind of band that I'm into at all. So I really am ignorant regarding their history and story or what not.

Can we trade places?

I'm tired of living in a town where when you say punk they think NOFX and not The Pop Group

I just noticed that our beloved wiki mentions punk under Kreuzberg - culture. so there you have it, wiki said it.

well it has the kind of culture that any sort of music scene will inevitably produce. Musics brings people together... So much of the punk ethos is about unity and what not, but really that's no different than any kind of music scene. The only differing aspects are the trivial things... The clothes, the image ETC. The sort of stuff that doesn't mean jack-shit.

not sure if you'd enjoy it. it's not exactly a welcoming nice "hey cool, where you from, nice to have you here in our shit quarters" atmosphere.

move to L.A. fist, then you'll love any other place later.

Shut up Elph. You're just talking out of your ass again. I don't think I've even ever discussed much politics on this board. So it's hilarious to see you assuming like a jackass again.

do you find Germany on a map or have any idea about Berlin's history, does the wall mean anything to you? I guess not, so we're not going anywhere with this.

depends where you end up, some districts are not a good place for Americans in general, as they are not a good place for any foreigner, or out-of-towner even. usually you can sort that out pretty fast by buying drinks, though.
