i think the last Pumpkins song i've ever connected with was Stellar, i don't recall if anything on Oceania has made me actually feel something. with Stellar, the lyrics "the wait hurts worse than the blows" made me think of child abuse, and how the anticipation and uncertainty of a parent's blowup is far more dreadful than the beating itself. or maybe it's not even about that at all, and it could just mean the wait for anything in life is always worse than what it turns out to be. either way, the lyrics make me THINK about the meaning, and billy hasn't written anything like that since then.

remember when the lyrics didn't identifiably relate to the song titles?

if you look at a super-redundant song like raindrops and sunshowers or apples and oranges, do the lyrics really add anything? either you like that one melody or you don't...

haha so true man. I don't really care about lyrics that much if the music is fantastic... But I dunno, I like Anti- Hero, but the lyrics are almost so bad that it's making the "repeat play factor" kind of difficult.
