Default The X-Files is a great show

I haven't watched it for 10 years or so but now I'm addicted to it on Hulu.

I like to pretend that last few seasons don't exist. I will have to rewatch it at some point.

It's a great show. I was talking to a friend about it. Its a little dated, specifically with the usage of cell phones. But I guess a lot of 90s shows are like that.

i went through a season or two about a year ago. "Monday" is my favorite episode, or at least the one I remember(ed) well.

I watched the entire series again last year, and yes, up to a certain point, it was awesome. I really liked that "Beyond the sea" episode. It became official shit with the supersoldiers storyline.

That was one of my favorite shows in the 90's. I was borderline obsessive with it, to the point where I was recording the eps on tapes and reading fanfic and stuff. :/

The Red and the Black was one of my favorite eps. Krychek was one of my favorite characters. After Mulder left, I pretty much stopped watching though.

Scully was always pretty, but when she straightened her hair and got an actual cut to it I thought she was pretty gorgeous.

I was always puzzled with how the cool villain of Terminator 2 turned out to be the fat old gassy man on x-files

he's definitely on the all time list of actors who aged horribly

my favorite show of all time probably...have a serious man crush on Mulder.

So many incredible episodes...but one of my all time favorites has to be "Bad Blood".
I feel like that one perfectly captures the show and the characters.

i feel exactly the same. I had piles of VHS tape recordings of the show. And I completely stopped watching when Mulder left. I was so pissed that I refused to watch it. I don't even know what the fuck happened after that, except for the final episode where he came back.

Yeah, we watched the series finale, and that was it. I was so disappointed.

The show worked really well in part because it was creepy, and it ended late at night... And it always left me with a sense of dread or panic or forboding. I never got that from the movies.

X Files is why I didn't watch Fringe for a season and a half. It looked so much like an X Files rip that I didn't want to see it

I was at a sushi restaurant last night and they played a new age version of the theme song. It was interesting ambiance

Giving this thread a necro bump for a slightly interesting SP tidbit.

I was listening to Gillian Anderson on Chris Hardwick's podcast and they talked alot about The X-Files. She mentioned how Billy used to come to the X-Files set and hang out alot and that he was a massive fan of the show. Just thought that was kinda interesting. That is all.

There is serious talk of resurrecting the show. I've read several reports that it might be a short season or miniseries. And both Duchovny and Anderson have both said publicly that they'd be on board if Chris Carter wanted to do it.

From the TCA Winter Press Tour, we know now that Fox has been in talks with Chris Carter to return The X-Files and Mulder and Scully to our television screens for a potential revival. This would be more like Fox's 24: Live Another Day miniseries than an actual show reboot. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would be returning to reprise their roles as our two favorite FBI agents. What will this entail? When will it happen? Will it happen? Well, we don't know those answers yet.

Not unlike Buffy the Vampire slayer, I don't see any way of rebooting this show without ruining it. Any more X Files projects would have to have the original leads involved.

I feel conflicted about this show because i liked it then and i've seen it a lot in the past 4 years and while you know its obviously a good show, it also depresses me to watch it. Partly because it reminds me of my life in the 90's. I just find the 90's so depressing.

Also, i hate Gillian Anderson and technically Scully is stupid "Mulder do you really expect me to believe..." I mean she's a skeptic for way too fucking long when it's been proven time and time again weird paranormal shit IS happening.Mulder is ALWAYS right, Scully is ALWAYS wrong. Like i'm a very skeptical person but the moment i come across some mutant who can shift shapes and preserve their life by eating peoples livers, or a guy who can light stuff on fire, all fucking bets are off. At this point i'm believing anything.
