Living beneath the crystal gate
Where the air is solid and the sun flows free
Crush the sky into pieces
Like endless starry streets

Wrong. I like a lot of newer shit.

I guess this is getting old now as this was 2000's, but this band was a bunch of young kids, and they genuinely knew how to write a damn good tune. It just didn't resonate with the masses.

I listen to this and it's mixed great, good musicianship, it kicks the crap out of anything else going on now

That's all Black Sabbath. You can hear it all over Corgan's
entire catalog. The octave chords with the droning notes, all Tony Iommi.

So much of his playing is 100% influenced by Sabbath. I know he's mentioned it in interviews before how they influenced him, but it still feels severely understated just how big of an influence on his style it has been.

i mean, don't get me wrong, i like a handful of their songs - they are well-crafted pop/rock tunes good for that little pep in your step when you hear a good pop tune but c'mon man

New Weezer video debuted yesterday. They absolutely nailed it. Captures the nostalgic feeling perfectly. I'm really really digging it. I love Weezer.

So awesome.

I don't know if people realize, but Rivers really had that kind of hair when he was a kid and his first band really was called "avante garde" (which you see prominently displayed on the kick-drum in the video)

wow, between C Bluff's fixation with factual errors made in Weezer videos & Took's obsession with correct grammar on Netphoria, you guys could make quite the team!

Lol yeah, that's the most glaring inaccuracy in the video. At the start of the video they show young Rivers in his room and there's skateboard clippings on his wall that are about 2 decades off LOL. There's a guy grinding down a rail on a staircase and shit lol.

I think they just wanted a shot showing the camcorder monitor as the kids film. It is a neat shot for what it's worth.

Aside from all of that. What does everyone think of the new Weezer video? I almost kinda get 1979ish vibes from it. I love they worked in the animation from the classic video too. Couldn't have made it any better IMHO.

New Weezer song out.

Pretty cool actually! Modern and hip but they pull it off. Catchy as hell
