I didn't expect to get a lot out of this, didn't see the Shiny tour, didn't watch videos before going to the show. and they sounded a lot better than I could have hoped for. I'm all for useless criticism, but saying this tour is "shit" is pretty fucking far off from reality, especially if you have been or listened to shows since 2007. this is as good as it gets.

Bill knows the only dogs around are the Sad ones humping his leg and desperately seeking attention by putting us down. And he knows we try our best to train them.

Thanks Billy!

None of this sounds any better than the tour last year. I’m not gonna fap over it just cause they’re playing some choice deep cuts.

IMO (as someone who attended a show last year and watched plenty utubes of both the shiny and the theater gigs) the playing is tighter, the vibes are more positive, and the whole thing feels like it’s clicking like it hasn’t since probably pre-pajojob zwan

And i was expecting exactly nothing from these shows

Fair enough but Corgz smug “told you so” attitude makes it’s hard to root for the guy or be happy if something quote unquote positive is happening to him.

They're properly jamming again and the tour isn't built around Corgan as some Christ-like figure. This is much better than the last year.

Who’s rooting for bill? Over here i’m just happy that this timeless very special music that belongs to me is getting properly served, plus it’s fun that Jim/James appear to be fully engaged and part of it again

funny that Shine is perhaps the only grunge era song that I hear in grocery-store, chain-restaurant settings. It is like one of the few songs of that era to cross over to easy consumerism radio

no wonder he is still angry

I'd never heard that song before so I had to look it up. Beside being complete garbage, it doesn't really sound much like Rhino.

Certainly not as much as that Stiltskin song.

That's because the correct comparison is Drown.

"Their biggest hit, “Shine,” was briefly embroiled in controversy when eternal whiner Billy Corgan claimed the catchy and unforgettable guitar riff had been stolen from the Smashing Pumpkins’ track “Drown.” Corgan lost that lawsuit when Roland was able to provide a demo version predating the Pumpkins’ song. “Shine” has since become an anthem synonymous with '90s music, the spiritual lyric “Heaven let your light shine down” oft-quoted between the “yeahs” that pepper the instantly recognizable song."
