On friday this is what google maps for my neighborhood looked like. Every one of those red circles is a military road block.

We have 20,000 armed soldiers in downtown DC. There are 5 enormous military vehicles and dozens of soldiers parked in front of my building.

It is likely I will be able to watch Trump fly away. Anytime he leaves the white house by air his helicopter flies right in front of my building. Supposedly he wants some kind of 21 gun salute as he walks down a red carpet to his last ride on Marine One as president on Wednesday. Never mind that a 21 gun salute by the military is intended for funerals.

Rather fitting, actually.

The only reason Trump's January 6 insurrection failed is because the Military does not support him. If he was a smarter fascist instead of attacking the military and denigrating them and angering all our Generals, he would have done everything he could to get their support, so that he could have sent them into the Capital to take control from his rioters and ensure that Congress could not reconvene.

But he couldn't do that. Because the people in charge of the military would never have followed that order. And he knew it.

The next republican president will likely not make that mistake, and that person will be much more dangerous than Trump.

The big lie that Trump won the 2020 election and was robbed by Pedophiles, Antifa, BLM, Socialists is the American equivalent of the Nazi's insitance that Jews were responsible for stabbing Germany in the back at the end of WW1. Hitler used and built that lie into the basis for WW2 and the holocaust.

I think the Republican party is going to use the Trump election lie to become a full fledged fascist movement and purge most of it's officials that don't agree with the lie.

Looking in the other direction. that tent on the sidewalk is a homeless guy that has lived in that spot for years. He spends most of his time outside of his tent writing incomprehensible polemics in chalk on the sidewalk about the military industrial complex.

I am honestly worried about the guy. I think he is a veteran and his delusions are all about the military taking over.... and now he is literally surrounded by dozens of armed soldiers.

starting seeds indoors. I have a new grow rack that i'll use later this year for Microgreens. But for now it has some of my garden starts (tomatoes, peppers, onions, shallots)

got it all set up and realized the shelf spacing was too high... so I had to improvise a way to raise up the trays to get them within 8" from the lights. Luckily i had a lot of Solo cups. These are T5 LEDs with computer fans to help circulate air.
