Default successful remasters

i can't say i've heard anything that's been significantly improved until i heard the 2011 remasters of the smiths entire catalog by Johnny Marr.

Santa brought me this for a Christmas/30th birthday present... still wading through it, but yeah - fully agree. Sounds awesome.

Way more expansive than that puppy, even. This is the super deluxe or whatever version of the box. It's all of the albums (+hatful of hollow, world won't listen, rank) on CD and 12", then the really insane part is the fact that it comes with 25 7" singles - all of them, the artwork on each is unreal. Just a complete replica of all of the original pieces, all remastered by Marr.

Even more insane? It came with a digital download of everything, including all of the songs from the 10 inch tall stack of 7" records.

While the actual box itself isn't the coolest thing ever, the guts are easily the crown jewel of my box set collection.

The Smiths is a band on my wishlist of discographies that I want to own.

They really should have done a "Past Masters" sort of release instead of all the fucking compilations.

i also want to mention that PM david cameron said he was a huge fan of the smiths, and since he's a big fan of maggie thatcher it seemed a kind of odd thing to say

marr's reaction was that he forbids cameron from liking the smiths

Well that's the point, it's only 95% of the songs and I want all of them.
