"Alienation" Case Study

Seriously this song is so bad I feel like it communicates Billy's emotional anguish more than the actual good sad songs that he has penned. It is writer's block manifest - but not like Hummer. He has to know this sucks... Billy can not write a tune anymore.

There is not one person in this man's life that likes "Alienation".

There is not one element of this song that could possibly rope in a new listener. The midi piano, the 4/4 metal kick drum at the start. I am certain if he wrote a song on the spot on a dare it would be better than this. Is there anyone in his circle that challenges him?

It's like he's a pitcher who has lost his confidence. "Seek and You Shall Destroy" is also so brutal. Like legit worst song on an Incubus album level of shit. Fuck.

There's been about 10 people say that there's nothing terrible or no real lows on the album, which to me is crazy. Alienation is perfect proof of that.
