In a twisted ironic sort of way didn't Billy fuck up his life just by forming the Snashing Pumpkins? Imagine if he had never been famous.

He lived in a bubble during the original run of the Smashing Pumpkins. I don't think it was ever really healthy for him. He's become a public train wreck ever since it fell apart. In a lot of ways I think being famous was one of the worst things to happen to him.

Billy would have been just as much of a trainwreck and miserable if he had to succumb to the man and work a shitty job every day like most of the public does.
