I mean, it's Karen O singing on top of cool, sexy beats. It's not the most amazing thing ever, but I'm not sure why you had such a visceral reaction to it.

On the subject of recent acts, I'd be a lot more excited for new Chromatics if all the stories about Dear Tommy didn't seem like a completely orchestrated load of bullshit (that sounds very similar to the history behind Prince's Black Album) to generate interest in a 'lost album' and if the concert I attended wasn't the biggest load of pretentious garbage that sounded like absolute dogshit.

At least the vinyl was cheap. I'll check out the new stuff soonish.
Meh. I don't live in a city anyone cares about, so the chances of me ever getting to see them live are pretty much nil. I also don't follow them (or anyone, really) close enough to get annoyed with new album shenanigans. I just enjoy when new music springs up and Closer to Grey definitely scratched the itch.

New album from JC Autobody (Jonathon Newby from the band Brazil) released last month. Pretty excited to get into this. RIP, Brazil.

Can't tell as I hardly listened to music at all this year, but I love Mavi's album, Let the Sun Talk.

This is about Immortal's Northern Chaos Gods beating Abbath's Outstrider, isn't it?

Gotta agree — I have "I'll Be Your Girl" on a Spotify playlist I still listen to, but I've forgotten the rest, and basically stopped listening to her old stuff as well

Norman Fucking Rockwell has failed to make much of an impression on me, but hard agree on your other two choices

I've been following Johhny's work since 1999 and he has truly went off the deep end and it's finally biting him in the ass. Still super stoked he never signed to a major label though. Good for him. He's apparently swimming in money.
