I despised Hillary because the Clintons are corrupt and bought off. Yet, I voted for Hillary and I'll vote for Biden. I actually like him a bit (not as much as Bernie) and way more than Hillary, but Warren was my candidate FWIW.

I am sure some parents are finding it difficult to spend so much time with their children because they usually go back and forth between being at school and being at home on their phones (parents & kids). I understand a little baby can't do much, but I'm talking the upper range. I dunno, don't working people talk about wishing they had more time to spend with their children?

I've been thinking of ways to fill my time and was thinking of making a diorama, but then I thought, What am I, 8? Would be a lot more fun with a little person, plus I got this Smithsonian Maker Lab book with awesome but juvenile projects like a balloon rocket car and dancing snake. Me? I wanna get a drum instruction book and come out of this knowing how to play some hot beats.

Our routine has changed because her school is closed, as well as her toddler activities and the park and library, but the amount of time we spend together is the same. I think the shock is greater for parents that haven't spent a whole day with their child in years. There's a great many factors to consider regarding childcare during a time like this, and no "one size fits all" answer.

Cuomo just had my extended family members on CNN. They say some of the hospitalized haven't even gotten the results of their tests back and literally no one has answers.

My job gives me a window into the logistics involved in slowly but surely shutting down an entire state government except for essential functions. Off camera, these people are terrified and are 100% making it up as they go along. There were plans but they haven’t been updated and nobody was ever trained to implement them so everyone is fighting about what they even mean

So, my special lady friend and I (she's an ER RN as well) are both out sick. We both have a dry cough- she's had fevers, I've had headaches. Even though we both work in the ER, no tests for us because they're so limited. So, we're just ordered off work for a week. There's a 99% chance it's just a typical URI virus but neither of us will be able to return to work for several days even after we inevitably feel better. Shit is getting stupider and stupider here as there's no real strategy to deal with the influx of patients we're expecting. The last few days at work have been sort of creepy as the ER has been a bit of ghost town. People are reluctant to come in with minor complaints for fear of exposure. It sort of feels like when the ocean pulls back right before a Tsunami.

Plus side, my doc wrote me for hycodan so I'm pretty much gonna just gonna netflix and buzz for the next week.

the person i am worried most about is my little brother; i'm a pretty protective big sister and always just hope he is okay wherever he is. he's young, but i know he is being impacted financially and losing hours and might not even have a job--i dunno if he would even tell anyone.
