Sure, politically speaking I think many of you are wandering fools, but, when it comes to musical opinions, its inherent I have some modicum of respect for y'all, because of what brought us to this board to begin with.

That and most circles I roll in value music over politics and as such musical opinions matter more and I tend to agree since its the last vestige of olde magik leftover to us.

well, admittedly one might have been petrified by the idea of asking a question and receiving an essay answer by yours truly. nevermind then.

what are the last words you uttered?
I think it was at the pharmacy last night and I said "Thanks." I've probably muttered some stuff to myself since then, and sung some lyrics on whatever random songs have come on.

Quote:
when did you wake up this morning?
about 7:15am. alarm was set for 7:30 but i just stayed up. ready to see what's going on with the hurricane.

Quote:
are you into the school groove yet?
Yes, but I need to be doing a bit more. Two of my classes just have midterms and finals so I need to be studying more.

Quote:
what color are your bedsheets?
Pink. I have 3 I rotate. Pink, Dark Blue, and Gray

Quote:
milk: whole, 2%, or skim?
I almost never buy milk but when I use it on campus or whatever (meal plan), I tend to put skim in cereal and whole in coffee. If I grab a glass of it it's usually 2%. I'm an equal opportunity milk drinker.

where are you living now? same place with your cat?
Yep. 4 years

Quote:
what is your cat doing right now?
She's next to me on the bed grooming her arms and paws.

This is a hard answer, because I'm just not a very sexual person. I'm draw to say butt, but in reality I more often am drawn to look at a dude's pecs.

It's hard to follow all the uqestions/answers here, so I'll just ask some

1) What book(s) changed your life?
2) What do you think about nihilism?
3) What accomplishment/event would make you feel like you achieved one of your life goals?
4) What do you think about comtemporary art? Is the concept of ambiguity central to contemporary art pieces?

Also, elph is more than right, knowing you're going to die is just the worst thing. I'm not afraid of being dead though, afterlife or not. Im afraid of dying itself. Something is going to be so unbearable it will kill me, and there's no avoiding that fact. It's terrifying.

1. This is a lame answer but, when I was like 11 I read the book Youth in Revolt (the movie sucks btw) and something snapped in my brain. It was super vulgar and about sex and drugs and was hilarious and very smart. It kinda made me feel like it was ok to be myself, somehow.

2. I kind believe in it, actually. I think a lot of what we value as humans (most of us), such as solidarity and honesty, are really not that benevolent as much as it is what is the most advantageous for each person. And so it feels somehow cosmically good and right to treat people well, but it's really not more noble than being selfish and hurting others. Regardless, I do good things because I don't like seeing others in pain, but there isn't some cosmic universal that good is good and bad is bad.
It's kind of a weird position to take, especially as a lot of people who take it probably do it as some kind of defense against their own aggressive/hostile nature, which I am not doing. I just think people ought to not think they're better than someone else or that someone else deserves no sympathy or belonging, when everyone is just following their programming - biologically or otherwise - and we really, most of us, aren't choosing to act good and others aren't choosing to act bad. As a general life strategy, anyway.

But, being the meatbag I am, I surely live my life with a strong sense of morality. And I do believe things like killing others and lying and stealing, etc, is wrong. So it's more of a mental exercise. In a world with no meaning, moral philosophy seems sort of self-indulgent.

3. I think my first internship where I'm working in a clinical setting will be big for me. Also, having sex and enjoying it/not getting triggered would be a good accomplishment. And therapy wise, really processing some of my memories would be good for me. I don't know that there's a point where I'll be able to say "there, I accomplished it" but I think it will be viewable in hindsight.

4. I don't really have much of an opinion on contemporary art. All I really get exposed to is at my university and I'm a huge dolt that just doesn't get most of it. I mostly don't try to, though. Do you have anything you really like? I'd love to take a look at it.

Good questions, btw

Our curiosity combined with relative intelligence is the best trait. Worst, is tendency towards racism/sexism/classism/xenophobia/etc

the depths of human depravity, probably. doesn't surprise me anymore, but it kicked my ass before

No. I lurked Netphoria when it started but never bothered with the forums until that fateful weekend of the Arising tour at Spreckels and then the Roxy where I met a bunch of peeps/netphorians. After that I started posting.

If you notice carefully, the solo is over a loop which is basically the rhythm to Mayonnaise in the key of F.

TOC: turn it up so we don't hear the sound of your pick hitting the strings. The only way to make an electric guitar sound good is loud.

ya, i made about 8 passes or so and this was the 3rd or 4th one. I was meandering around parts of the solo that pretty much came together in this take and was meant to show the fingers/scales without worrying about levels and such onto the mic. kinda whoops but...I know to stand further back and crank it louder, but that wasn't the emphasis with this.

Plus, it's a 15w Line-6; basically a practice amp but a great bang for the buck. One of these days we'll crank up the L-6 147 or the Marshall stack and really rip.
