Welcome, everyone!
Tonight’s Indian Cultural Night has been a great success. As club president, I’m truly thankful to everyone who volunteered their time. I can tell every person here is committed to helping keep this club going strong, and it’s really inspiring to see. This celebration of culture through dance, food, and language has stood the test of time, and tonight’s event marks the 15th anniversary. I hope you all enjoy yourselves tonight!
Before we get to the eating and the dancing, there are a few people I want to thank for their amazing work these past few weeks.
For doing all the invitations, flyers, and every other type of promotional work you can think of, I want to acknowledge the kind folks at Sunny Press. They have taken this organization’s countless ideas and made them better than we could have imagined.
I also want to thank Ramiya’s for catering this feast. As much as I would have loved to cook for all of you, I don’t think my kitchen is nearly big enough, and Ramiya’s food is the best in the city.
Thanks to our donors, too, who have been extraordinarily generous this year and really made this event possible.
Another big thanks to Sunil Patel for getting us this beautiful venue and handling all the details of planning such an epic event.
And last but not the least, I want to thank you all for coming. Without your continued support, we would never be able to put on events like these, so thank you. Cheers!

My recommendation is to follow my example by making sure your next post is always more terrible than the last.

Frock coat or tuxedo?

frock coats. though it'd take some balls actually putting one on.

Do you like to swim?

yeah, very much so. i have a pretty natural tendency to swim. once i dived like 30 meters in this tourist attraction water tank, which was my first time even using a scuba tank, and the instructor guy said i was a natural according to the way i handled it and moved in the water. i don't go swimming nearly enough though.

Have you ever been rock climbing?

never. i'm probably too thin and weak to do it.

Have you ever punched a hole in a wall?

punched a hole in a door once or twice. no walls though. don't you need to be like, superman to punch a hole in a wall?

What would you like to tell your past self?

don't take her for granted.

Relativity or quantum mechanics?

wrassling.

Why won't the aliens talk to us?

honestly can't blame them. i wouldn't wanna talk to us either.

What's your favorite alcoholic beverage?

probably red wine, or whiskey.

Oh you definitely don't need to especially strong to punch a hole in the wall. Then again I've only lived in apartments until now. The walls might be weaker than house walls.

Once my husband accidentally put a hole in my parents' wall with his head. All he did was lean back into it from the floor. and he only weighs about 135 pounds

I have more questions, teh bolly!

Do you still watch Beevis and Butthead?
Is American or Israeli TV better?
When did you start learning English and what was hardest about it?
What's the worst outfit you ever wore?
What's your favorite strain of marijuana?
Do you remember on that night, I couldn't find the words to say I'm sorry? Do you believe in this?

Do you still watch Beevis and Butthead?

i was never that huge on beavis and butthead. mainly liked the episodes where it was stuff happening to them, or the movies. never cared for the music video segments.

i just found the avatar funny, with them headbanging into infinity.

Is American or Israeli TV better?

there are some good original israeli dramas and even 70's comedies that i love, but
i don't watch tv. i just download movies and shows and watch what i like. as a rule though, american tv is more profesionally produced than israeli, you could say.

When did you start learning English and what was hardest about it?

i started fumbling with the abc before 1st grade. family mythology says i asked my mom for an ABC book. what i find hardest about english is speaking in a very structured, incisive, precise way. i've said this before, but i feel my english is very inefficient. i really envy people who have a more structured way of expressing their thoughts (like a few distinguished members of this board), and who know how to use just the right word in just the right place, instead of piling on redundant descriptions. listening to an eloquent, smart english speaker is always very inspiring for me.

What's the worst outfit you ever wore?

i only recently began to dress nicely. before that i used to dress very simply. just a t-shirt and some jeans or whatever. which is not really my fault tbh, people in israel dress like shit. if you do more than jeans with a t-shirt people give you the 'lol check out this guy' look.

What's your favorite strain of marijuana?

i'm much more of a fan of sativa. the sparkling head rush where everything becomes slightly hallucinatory and hilarious and inspiring is one of the best frames of mind for me. i very rarely get to smoke weed that hits just that spot though. almost all weed in israel that isn't 60$/gram is heavy couch potato hash.

Do you remember on that night, I couldn't find the words to say I'm sorry? Do you believe in this?

can't make sense of this sentence...

it's been a while since i read an english book.

two speakers that inspired me like that recently though, are Greg Popovich (head coach of San Antonio Spurs, if you don't know) and Ed Snowden.

What are your favourite Hebrew bible passages/verses?

What colour eyes do you have?

Do you get involved in discussions about Israeli politics and foreign policies?

What are some books you would recommend to others, both fiction and non-fiction, regardless of peoples' individual tastes - because you think the message they have to communicate to humankind would be of benefit most readers?
