Default i think i have found my dream home

all mine for $1000

i have been unsuccessfully house and apt hunting for the past few years and nothing really ever felt right. for some reason i never thought to look into mobile homes/trailers. as soon as i did, it was as if every obsctacle i ever faced in this hunt disappeared.

as a child, i lived in a trailer up until 2nd grade. after i graduated college, my gf lived in a trailer park. i've just always felt comfortable there i guess kind of like the way wealthier people flock to gated/planned communities.

for me its a privacy issue. i don't want to buy a house in this city and most apartments have an issue with privacy and general noise. i don't want to share a wall with a techno head just like a nice older church lady doesn't want to hear me practice shredding scales.

i need to have studio access 24/7 w/ no constraints. the only real drawback would be the stigma attached to it by other people. i generally don't gaf about what either people think so that's not an issue for me for the most part. i just wouldn't want my mom to hate it.

ok but the legistics of what im thinking is like, okay, the trailer costs $1000. lot fees are say @$300 a month give or take. G&E if its not included say an extra $100 (depending on the site hookups, etc). Either way it wouldnt be more than $550 a month.

The only shit part would be because i am buying the trailer for $1000 if anything goes wrong with it that's on me. But the way I see it is that for $1000 and it was built in 1978 and its sustained living for this long it can probably house me for at least a decade.

$1000

yea i was just posting about similar stuff. i would assume that if its been lived in for some time, all the wiring and hookups etc is all up to code. i'm not going to be moving this trailer anywhere. its going to sit right where it is.

i would ask when the last time the thing has been inspected was - and certainly either demand it be or pay to have it done before i considered anything.

$1000

I genuinely want to live in a trailer park
It's so much more affordable than apartments and honestly what is the fucking difference beyond the social stigma that none of us should give a fuck about

Oh, okay, looks dope. I'm on my phone and I thought it was a much smaller trailer.

Once upon a time I had a notion to move to new mexico and one option I was considering was getting something like this and living just outside Albuquerque or something.

I like homes made of wood and brick on shady lots with land. I like the charm and workmanship and quirks of older homes.

Edit: I like other homes not on the east coast of the U.S. too but generally I like older homes with some land attached. But it's ok if you don't I'm just saying that I like.

as somebody who got out of a nightmare "bargain" townhome arrangement a few years ago, i'll warn that the adage "you get what you pay for" has never been more true when it comes to living space. BEWARE
