Cool Official Formula 1 Thread

We need one of these because Formula 1 is the best sport ever and baseball is mad gay yo.

Qualifying for Melbourne is about to begin (2 minutes)!

I really really hope Brawn does well. They've been preparing for this season FOREVER and are now on their own. It better pay off.

Also I hope Fernando Alonso <3 does super well.

The Brawns are on fire out there. I expected some improvement from last season with Honda, but this is insane. Great show so far.

Brawn kicked some major ass today, what the hell. Totally excited for tomorrow's race, but i haven't got a bloody clue who to pick as a winner.

Yeah, Brawn dominated out there, but Honda's history still has me pretty skeptical of a win. Plus Alonso and Hamilton are guys who shine brightest under pressure.

But as for the season, it looks like Brawn GP has two of the quickest cars out there, maybe not the BEST drivers (good drivers still) but not the best. But they really have done some serious work since they were with Honda.

awesome race, but what a shame in the end with the Vettel / Kubica crash. A Button / Kubica / Vettel podium would have been even better.

Did vettel get a penalty in the end? I think his car was still beside Kubica's, so in my opinion he wasn't too much to blame.

I'm not sure if he got one, but he definitely wouldn't deserve it imo. He was over as far as he could've gone. I felt so bad when I heard him on the radio apologizing to his team for blowing it at the end there.

Hamilton and Alonso really proved their talent out there though, especially Hamilton. Even with that start he was going for first place the entire time. Hell of a passer, that guy.

Overall it was a pretty great race. It was no Singapore '08, but it was good. I'm sure a couple of the kinks these other teams have will get ironed out for the next races.

Edit: Yeah they penalized Vettel. Pretty ridiculous.

yeah just read it somewhere. Kubica could have also given him some more space on the inside of the corner, and nothing would have happened. The 35k$ fine for trying to finish in his smashed up car with bits hanging all over the place was deserved though.

That's true. I understand that he wanted points but you don't drag other people into danger because of it. The car went surprisingly well on three wheels though!

I'd say the Vettel/Kubica incident was entirely Kubica's fault, but I guess how it works is if you're behind you get the penalty. So Vettel, though ahead at corner entry, didn't have enough speed halfway through, so Kubica got ahead right before the collision, causing Vettel to get screwed. At least that's how I think it works, not 100%.

Yay for Malaysia. A decent enough beginning for Brawn, but Hamilton's pit seemed to come at the perfect time.

Funny how currently half the course is wet, half of it is dry and sunny. Wet, dry, wet, dry.

Formula 1? Because Brawn GP, a bunch of nobodys lead by a legend, is handing Ferrari and Mclaren their asses. The underdog of underdogs is dominating.

Oh, and Formula 1 cars are the coolest cars ever.

Did you see those shots of the rain in the gutters alongside the track? Pretty outrageous weather.

Button said he could barely keep the car steady moving at a running pace behind the safety car. But yeah, I'd rather see a race end halfway through than somebody get injured or damage a car. It just isn't worth it.
