Default New Release: 1993.12.11 Upgrade

I just released this show to the hub. I had planned to release it a while back; here is a wall of text I wrote then:

Does anyone know the lineage of the circulating copy of this show? I have a different version of the same recording. But first, some history...

Jimmy Flemion (of the Frogs) wanted a tape of this show for himself, so he gave a 90m ANA tape to the soundman for recording. That's why there's only 90m of this show: the sound guy didn't have another tape, so he just stopped recording after 90m. Obviously this is a SBD recording, and you can tell if you listen closely - SP always use a gate on the vocal mics, so during dead time the audience noise will pop in and out as the gate triggers depending on volume level. It's also why you hear a very clean recording of the house music before the band starts playing.

The transfer currently in circulation claims to be ANA-2. Its stereo separation is lousy; that is to say, there is essentially none. It also claims the recording is AUD, which makes me think that the person didn't know the story behind the recording, which makes the gen info very suspect.

I have an ANA-3 tape with better stereo separation. This came from Josh Provost a long time ago - Josh had (has?) an ANA-2. I'm not sure who had the ANA-1 - perhaps I never knew - but obviously the ANA-M was Jimmy Frog's.

The stereo separation on my copy is by no means perfect. The left channel levels are unbalanced throughout the tape. I boosted them 2db to get them to match up better in most places, but they still aren't great. I also only have 1:35 of I Am One, whereas the other tape has 2:43. Still, this is a different enough source of a relatively interesting/important show that I thought it was worth sharing.

I would love to hear any more info that anyone has about this show and/or recording.
