Actually, this thread has been quite pleasant to read compared to other forums. We hope that all fans who wish to support the release of material will get involved in the project and have their say. Despite past incidents, we as team members (fellow fans) are more than willing to hear the input from here.

We will pass along this message to Billy regarding formats for The Metro DVD. As we all know, he does prefer high-fidelity formats. He does mention high-resolution footage for The Metro DVD (+ 5.1 audio options) in the interview that will be released today.

Our apologies for the late response. We are indeed 13 and webmasters/staff from spfc.org, spfreaks.com, crestfallen.com and bystarlight.org are part of the team. There are also a few members who have been active on ZOMB Torrents and in live shows trading/collecting for many years. There are also members with backgrounds in graphic design and project management.

DTS-HD Master Audio can only be experienced on Blu-rays >>>

DTS-HD Master Audio is a lossless audio codec created by Digital Theater System. It was previously known as DTS++. It is an extension of DTS which, when played back on devices which do not support the Master Audio or High Resolution extension, degrades to a "core" track which is lossy. DTS-HD Master Audio is an optional audio format for Blu-ray Disc format exclusively. DTS-HD Master Audio has been steadily becoming the standard for Blu-ray lossless audio format.

One goal of the DTS-HD Master Audio format was to allow a bit-to-bit representation of the original movie's studio master soundtrack. To accomplish this, DTS-HD MA supports variable bit rates up to 24.5 Mbit/s on a Blu-ray Disc and up to 18.0 Mbit/s for HD DVD. The format supports a maximum of 192 kHz sampling frequency and 24-bit depth samples from 2 to 5.1 channels, and 96 kHz/24bit resolution up to 7.1 channels.

Regarding the picture quality:
I'm not sure if the source material is digital (I guess SD back in 2000) or film (which would be awesome...think about the Nirvana Blu-ray). But no matter what it was, it WILL look better on Blu-ray.

The reissues seem to be doing a nice job of offering outtakes, demos and unreleased songs. So, I hope the Lucky 13 releases will bring out some official soundboard recordings. The Smashing Pumpkins live shows have been bootlegged, traded and downloaded for over 20 years. When I think about SP and what it means to be a fan, I immediately think about the live performances and the effort over the years to collect all of my favorite shows. I still have shoe boxes full of maxell II 90 minute tapes from 1995/96. I would love to see the band finally offer some *definitive* live recordings of the shows we have all collected and loved that highlight this band's career. Off the top of my head:

Viper Room '98 Billy solo acoustic show
Early '96 club shows (acoustic and electric sets)
Double Door shows from '95
Arising! shows from '99
8/27/94 second stage set from the Shoreline Ampitheatre
The full Halloween '98 show (Money & XYU releases were awesome!)
Bride School Benefit shows from '97
Texas Motor Speedway show form 11/1/97
Any of the summer festival '97 shows (including Glimpses)
The surprise acoustic show from Berlin in 2007 (Gossamer?!)
June/July '96 MCIS shows (maybe 7/9 and 7/10 last Jimmy shows)
Early '97 shows (i.e. 2/5/97 last and longest MCIS tour performance)
Any soundcheck recordings with rare or unreleased songs
11/29/00 United Center (sorry but the FM we have kinda sucks and this show is a top 5 in terms of performance)

It would be cool if Billy selected some of his favorite shows or tapes and offered a brief background on why he wants to release this performance.

FWIW, I'd pay $1 a song for a lossless download of ANY of that stuff listed above.

Okay, that's cool. The polarity in the fan base is ridiculous but we all ultimately love the band and want the releases. If we all work together etc
