So get this: Turkey was fucking F L O O D E D with cats. I couldn't take a step in Istanbul without bumping into a cat. Cats here, cats there, cats EVERYWHERE. And Turkish ppl love cats. They feed them and water them (there are little food and water stations all over the place) and pet them so the cats are really friendly.

Just a few cats in Konya.

A BUTTLOAD of cats in Antalya. The park overlooking the harbor had like half a dozen kittens running around.

The best was Izmir. In this awesome place called the Kulturpark, there were like a hundred thousand million cats. They had cat veterinary centers for them and a cat hospital/hotel were sick cats could chill and convalesce in peace. I met this one little pregnant white cat who adopted me. She jumped on my lap while I was smoking on a bench and put her nose in my face LOL. She would do this thing where her eyes would narrow and her ears would tilt back. Sorta flattening her head. CUTE!!! All while purring like a radiator, of course. I bought her Fancy Feasts and shit.

That's all. Took out.

One summer I worked with a bunch of guys from Turkey, They did not enjoy Maine lobster. And they went on and on about jetskis. It was wild. This was back in the W Bush era. who knows what they think about us now

I like all SDRE, in fact there was great maryland based band on the DC scene called "Velvet" that was very much in the SDRE vein. The singer and guitar player now have a new band that play baltimore and DC all the time called "Unring the Bell". Also the singer Joe has a youtube channel "Brewer's acrade". Dude has a basement full of coin-ops and pinball machines and memorabilia. And he's a Kurt-loving lefty who reviews left handed guitars. Awesome guy.

Oh I lived in DC when Dave Grohl was living there doing the 'there is nothing left to lose" album. All my college classmates used to see him at 7/11 super late at night after recording
