Default ISO: "Still Life" tracks from BC's old band

Apparently at some point there was a website that hosted RealAudio tracks from "Still Life", a band that BC was in back in the late 80's (maybe before the Marked?)

Found a track called "Takin' the Fall" on a bootlist, I can't find that song or mention of this band on SPFC but it's probably there I just haven't found it

Anyone got some info on this?

looking further into this, seems like maybe billy wasn't the singer of this band and just played bass.. which is probably why there's barely anything online about it that i can find so far..

Some other DAts that may be of interest: Secret interview with Mike Po (05.24.98), three soundchecks I recorded (07.19.98, 07.20.98, probably both from outside the venue, and 04.29.00 from inside), 07.31.98 autograph session where I got one of my Moon tapes signed, Gish rough edit 3/91 from Po.

There's also a DAT copy of a cassette that was acquired with the Psycho tape, I assume it's circulating. Tracklisting is Jennifer Ever (demo), 6 songs from 10.05.88, Nothing & Everything with a question mark for date, Time Has Come Today with a question mark for date. B side looks like it was the TSP demo.

There's also a DAT with four songs from Still Life. I've mentioned these before, the singer from Still Life had these on his web page back around '98. They were crappy Real Audio files, which I have saved on a CD somewhere. Looks like I also spun them to DAT at one point. Quality sucks ass, as I recall. Tracklist: Takin' The Fall, Paradise, Vasciline (sic), Something's Wrong.

Also found one of my 'interview' notebooks that I used to take notes whenever I could get someone on the phone, I'd pepper them with questions and they'd give me all sorts of trivial information, leads, etc. This notebook has notes from Billy's friend Anita (last name withheld). I'll have to post some of this stuff.

this is out there:

Lineage: Real Audio>CDR>SHN

notes: Still Life is the other band that billy played with on 8-10-88.
or here, for example: http://members.shaw.ca/cdrchow/music...ingthefall.txt
not sure if the other three songs mentioned have been circulated.

OK- so after a little more detective work this is what I've got.

The track "Takin' The Fall" is a studio recording he did with the band 'Still Life'. I was confused in the beginning because I thought this might be just one of the live tracks from them opening for SP on 10/8/88, but that wasn't the case. This link seems to lead one to believe it was a song from that night he opened with them but anyway..

http://members.shaw.ca/cdrchow/music...ingthefall.txt

Still Life played 4 songs to open for SP that night, and Billy did play bass that one night for them- but this particular 'Takin' the Fall' song is the only studio recording he played bass on that was out there.. The 4 live tracks were circulating at some point, but the quality is so bad that I believe they were just sorta forgotten. I should have that opening set in SHN within this next week, but for now here's the studio recording- isn't anything to jump up and down about but I'm glad to have found some new piece of history to add to Satur9Hub..

Also, imo the bass is the only thing about this song that's good lol
