grox can't make sentences with more than five words most of the time, he has to wear a helmet because the top of his skull is gone from a very terrible industrial accident which left him with 27% brain capacity

A lot of the Machina era performances were total shit. Remember how they performed Bullet? Just dreadful.

There was definitely some brilliance too. But it was hit and miss. MADM was pretty weak.

The Heavy Metal Zero was all that was necessary to make that era amazing

And just Corgan's screams in general. He's got those demonic howls.
I went to see SP live during the Teargarden era with my metal head friend and the last song they played was Bullet and Billy full on screamed the last CAAAAAAAGGEEEEE. And even my friend was like holy shit dude |

Man...from 2:51 on...so much passion! Billy was really feeling it. And yeah; fantastic scream at 5:42. |

Refused to play an encore at the Birmingham UK show because the crowd weren't big enough or weren't into it or something.
Fuck the fans that were and bought tickets, right? Plus the bald man in a black / white / silver dress was a terrible, terrible look. |

Wow, what a phenomenal performance, great pick. I didn't know that here were any shows like this from 2000 that had as much guts and energy as the shows from 1999.
Kind of strange how there were lots of shots of Melissa and Billy, a few of Jimmy but hardly any of James. |

I don't see the Machina tour as a fail. If there are a few hits I won't mind also seeing a few misses on an album/tour. Machina tour wasn't perfect, but there were good things in there, like the "metal" version of Adore. I view it now as bill's last loud and heavy phase, even if it was forced, before going back to a musical arc that started with Adore and ended with Jimmy leaving in 2010.

Machina era totally justified just by the way they played "Fuck You" at those shows.

what about it? he was "fucked up" onstage in the early 90ies, and in the mid 90ies and... in general.
I enjoyed the better part of the 2000 gigs - including Melissa, the two-part acoustic and electric set, dresses, and the general aggressive "fuck us and fuck you, we are done" act. Corgan's end of show banter - thanking the fans for years of support - were the sweet counterpart, and seemed genuine. Plus Europe hadn't had a chance to hear Chamberlin live since 97, that alone made up for any not so great song performances. |

i mean like...was he playing a character or was he just tweaked out on speed? tons of horrible moments between him and james.....like at that korea show where billy is filming james only inches away from his face with a camcorder as james stammers on trying to think of a joke...

i know that's when it was announced, but i'm wondering when he decided the band was done. i dont fully buy that the band all got together in october 1998 and decided to break up for sure. like someone on here said ages ago, it seems like billy broke up the band after machina tanked.

They recorded a song for that album about the band breaking up. So I have to think that they had some kind of idea before the tour. It's not like Sting announcing it on stage without ever discussing it with Copeland and Summers. |
